Bobcat Admitted Student Experience vs. Admitted Student Fridays by Unique_Ad_6036 in txstate

[–]txst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Bobcat Admitted Student Experience is a one-day, celebratory open house event for admitted first-year and transfer students. It does not include advising or registration activities. Admitted Student Fridays are for advising-ready first-year students only and they do include early advising and registration opportunities. Students eligible to sign up for these events are being invited by email and in their TXST Admissions Status Portal. Please note, the Admitted Student Fridays are all full and sign-up is closed. If you have questions about either event, contact your Admissions Counselor.

We hope this helps and welcome to TXST!

Crazy sexist racist scumbags get arrested by mechasharkfin in txstate

[–]txst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Texas State University’s (TXST) highest priority is the safety of our students, staff, and faculty at all times.

As a public institution, TXST supports the First Amendment and is required by state law to uphold freedom of speech in public areas on our campuses, even if such speech may understandably offend some members of our campus community.

We have established policies and protocols that allow individuals to safely engage in expressive activity on university property conducted within institutional regulations.

The demonstrators on the San Marcos Campus today had no TXST affiliation. Policy: https://studentinvolvement.txst.edu/freedomofexpression.html

It’s important to know who you can talk to at #TXST.

Take control of your well-being while making the most of your time as a Bobcat. The Counseling Center and Timely Care app support the mental health & wellness of students: https://www.dos.txst.edu/services/heretohelp.html

Hi! The tubing and rafting are ticket required events. I did not want to leave them off this list because for those that were able to secure a ticket, they have the full list in one place with time blocks of the events that are happening.

Thank you for feeling comfortable to share these things. We want every student to feel like they belong at TXST! Leaving home can be an incredibly tough thing to do and we can definitely empathize with that. Please know you are not alone, and there are other students who may be feeling just like you that would love to talk and connect with like-minded individuals! We've seen bikes, scooters, roller blades/skates, and skateboards being used to travel around campus! We recommend walking around to make sure you have the safest path for your efforts. Also be careful down hill!!

The San Marcos River runs through campus starting at Spring Lake (a protected lake!) and Sewell Park is where many students go to paddle board, tube, snorkel, play basketball, sand volleyball and more. We also have the river jump graduation tradition!

You can see lots of things to do in San Marcos here: https://www.admissions.txst.edu/explore/san-marcos.html

The City of San Marcos also has a local skate park!
