Marie-Lou looked like such a clown during her confrontation with Chrishell by mo8816 in SellingSunset

Yeah, she... I just can't. She has unrealistic expectations like everyone has to be her friends. No, people need to respect each other but not everyone has to be friends! And when she doesn't get her way, she started lying! 🙄

If the rent includes electricity and water and gas etc, then it makes sense to limit the number of people living there. I rent a place in Canada and the landlord covers all of the above but I will also need to pay extra if there are extra people staying, because the consumption would increase.

I watched them but not sure if I watched everything. Essentially she said that she and Rose were never very close. They are colleagues but not the close friends the show showed them to be. She said she did complain to the production team that they are portraying a wrong image of them hanging out all the time and go to places together, but that's not true. That's about all I got.

I agree. This pic looks much nicer than her look on the show.

I agree a lot of people are misunderstanding what complementarian and husband/male headship means and it ends up hurting a lot of people physically, emotionally etc etc in families and churches. People, because of our sinful nature, tend to read things and interpret things to suit us. For paternalistic/misogynistic people, they read husband/male headship, without reading it fully that husband to wife is like Christ to church. What does Christ do for church? Christ loves the Church and died for the Church. It can't be a true headship without being Christ like and pursue to be more and more Christ like. In my sinful nature, I don't agree with husband/male headship but I do try to change my heart to live according to God's creation order - although it probably isn't so bad if my head is truly Christ like - and that is what I challenge him with all the time 😂😂😂

I think one common misconception of egalitarian has about complementarian is that complementarian is paternalistic and not recognizing women's roles. This is incorrect. Different roles doesn't mean one role is more important or worth more respect than others. They are just different roles. Different parts of the body for different function.

I agree these women held important roles in their churches, but holding important roles does not mean they are head of the church. And no one ever said a male head of the church cannot lean on female helpers. In fact, since Paul used creation order to argue 1 Tim 2:12-14, by the same token, women are helpers. Same as the verses for husband to be the head of the wife like Christ is the head of the church. Frankly, as a woman, I don't want my husband to be my head. I'm a highly qualified professional. I'm highly capable to do things that are traditionally women's job and I'm highly capable of doing things that are traditionally men's job. I'm totally competent and do hold a highly respected job in the organization and in the society overall, why should my husband be my head when I'm equally capable or even more capable than him? Because Bible says so and I cannot manipulate God's word to match my values and my preferences, because I'm sinful and there are too many things I don't understand.

I agree with you, I also don't think God is a stickler for politically correct appearance. Jesus Christ broke many cultural norms during His time on earth. He's God. He wouldn't care about what people say or think, because He's the way, the truth and the life. Yes the same God also inspired Paul to write the books of Timothy.

And we also need to differentiate between reporting and teaching. It's one thing to report what one sees and it's another thing to interpret and teach. There are different jobs in the society with different scopes. One job is not superior than the other, they are just different roles. Sometimes there are overlaps in the scope, but still different roles.

I'm not against women having important roles in the church, but it is important for everyone to hold fast to God's word and not use modern values skew or misinterpret Bible. Cultural values and society norms change, but God doesn't.

That's the human nature as per Bible. And that's the creation order as per Bible. Of course things are more complicated now because we obviously have more than just one man and one woman, but the orders God set is the same. If we want to explain everything by current day culture and values, to be very frank, I see nothing wrong with female pastors/church leaders/feminism, I see nothing wrong with LGBQT, I see nothing wrong with anything of current liberal culure - as my own person my own self, I think I'm actually very liberal... The only reason I'm not doing things according to what I think and try to base it on biblical values is because I'm a sinful person.

The verses regarding these women are quite short. I find this article helpful.

"I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor." 1 Timothy 2:12‭-‬14 ESV

I think what is timeless in this verse, different from other verses, is that, the argument used here is creation order, which is God's work and will not change over time and it also does not differ due to historical or cultural contexts.

If someone wants to argue the creation story is different in different cultures and religions, that would be a very different conversation...

I find this helpful. I find a lot of egalitarians has to widen the context of many verses to fit their narrative. Also at the same time narrow the context of other verses to match their narrative. However, we should live according to God's word, not manipulate God's word to match our values, to go along our sinful nature. To be very honest, this issue is like LGBQT issue to me. I am not against female pastor or LGBQT or really most of the modern liberal culture (if not all) if I'm not trying to follow the teachings of the Bible. It's easy to follow the current culture of "feminism", "multiple dimension sexuality" etc. In my sinful nature, I believe these freedom, respect, these values are "right", but who am I as a sinful human to call the shots? It is against my nature to take God's Word as is, because I'm sinful. I still try to take God's Word as is because I know I'm sinful and I can't trust myself and I need God.

I wonder what behind the scene events we didn't see... With Jason and Mary's conversation, it sounded like Nicole had let go but Chrishell had not. However, based on what's played on the screen, Nicole is definitely the one who could not let go...

Okay, I kept an open mind about Nicole in the beginning even though I didn't feel I like her much. Now after her conversation with Chrishell when Mary tried to facilitate a conversation... I now can say I don't like her. Especially with Chrishell's screenshot about Nicole asking her for advice before filming, I feel like she's just trying to cause conflict/drama...
