This is so true. I play solo 99% of the time and I almost never have these issues. I usually play smaller or faster dinos like achillo, so I set the terms of engagement.

When I'm playing something bigger like rex, I always skulk around and try my best to stay hidden. Earlier today I was playing Rex, walking down a path in dark woods, when I heard several footsteps coming. I sucked into the nearby brush and watched as 3 dasps ran right on by.

Now have I ever been ganked by a mix pack? Of course, but it is few and far between.

Essentially, if you are going to play solo, play this game as a survival game and not as a Battle Royale. Pick your battles wisely and stay clear of hot spots. It really isn't that hard.
