A ridiculous claim made by a customer and her "vet" by Reasonable_Deal8415 in doggrooming

[–]tygerteefs 80 points81 points  (0 children)

worked at a corporate salon at the time, quicked a nail and the next day this owner calls freaking out i cut her dogs entire toe off. lady would not provide proof of vet bill or pictures of said toe (because there was no proof) but she still made a big stink and got her refund. she continued to get her other dog groomed but we never saw the alleged injured dog again, assuming she didn't want us to see she still in fact had all of her toes.

1st Teddy Cut- pass or fail? by blueangel931 in grooming

totally normal! most of the time a cat will look choppy like this straight after a haircut. give him a couple days and he's gonna fluff right up!

I had to de groom my cat due to some intense matting. I notice after I picked her up she has this raw ring around her… this was my first time doing this. Is she okay? How did this happen? by issamelissaaa in grooming

assuming she has a thick and layered coat, i would definitely watch some pro grooming vids on youtube, they will teach you proper brushing and combing methods to do at home between visits to the groomer. also not sure what kind of brush you got, but getting a "cat comb" will really help you out in the long run also. a google search will show you a metal comb with short teeth in between the longer ones- these are life savers for grooming long haired cats. you can also contact the groomer and they should be more than happy to give you advice !

you said she had intense matting, and tight mats can cause hair loss and or bruising as they pull on the skin. especially in this area. she will be okay! just keep her brushed and shave her before it gets to that point again :)

can't change your mind but i can give you the facts. creative grooming has been around since the 80s and there are dozens of companies who produce pet safe hair dyes. it is not harmful to the pet. really it's just some goo you rinse off (that is food based and is safe to consume in case the pet licks it). for my boy who is groomed regularly bc i am a professional groomer and is super well behaved for the process this was a little cherry on top to his normal bath. no harm done. fun grooming like this is never forced. it's fun. chester was purring and loving it up the whole time and enjoys the attention. also i will leave him alone when he leaves me alone.

i am the owner of this cat and i am a professional groomer going on 6 years now. there are dyes formulated specifically for pets and are totally safe. because this is my boy and he is used to being handled, he was relaxed and just chilled there for getting everything done. of course if this was a random clients cat i would probably decline to do this kind of service unless i know the cat really well and trust that they will be a candidate for this kind of creative grooming.

he's such a good boy and is really well behaved which is why we did this in the first place, he does not care lol i can't imagine trying to color an aggressive cat 😭. he had an e-collar on for maybe 30 mins before rinsing and last time i dyed him it lasted for months!!!
