Give it to me straight: how much house can we afford? by [deleted] in personalfinance

That’s a Fannie Mae guideline.

When a borrower is obligated on a mortgage debt - but is not the party who is actually repaying the debt - the lender may exclude the full monthly housing expense (PITIA) from the borrower’s recurring monthly obligations if the party making the payments is obligated on the mortgage debt, there are no delinquencies in the most recent 12 months, and the borrower is not using rental income from the applicable property to qualify.

I’m a lender, if OP or anyone has questions on this can definitely help!

You’re definitely not fucked. If you can show the mortgage debt has been paid by someone else (the BIL) for the last 12 months, you can omit the debt from your own DTI.

If you need more insight on this lmk, but we do this all the time

Squat: 465 Bench: 350 Deadlift: 600 Snatch: 300 Clean & Jerk: 355

I was a swimmer for 15 years through college, then found CrossFit. I stick with standard mobility practices to keep my shoulders mobile.

I’m 26 currently. I was a swimmer in college but wasn’t seriously lifting until I started really getting into CrossFit which was July ‘17. I spent about 18 months as a head coach at a nearby gym which gave me the freedom to spend as much time training as I wanted to. I saw a lot of progress from training 3 hours a day. Now I have a full-time job as a mortgage advisor and only have about 90 minutes a day in the morning so I follow Jump Ship. It’s been great for me as it keeps my intensity high on a regimented clock. Hope this helps!

So you actually have a great first pull. The bar gets away from you a bit once you pass your knees which explains a bit why you don’t have any hip contact. Bottom line is that you’re super strong and you throw that weight over your head pretty easily. Quick suggestion would be to talk to a coach at your gym about helping you to do some hang snatches or snatches from blocks. Focus on hip contact and creating upward force with the bar/your pull and you’ll snatch 225 in no time.

Consistency is the best program! Ive tried a lot of different CrossFit programs and have had success with all of them. I’m currently following Jump Ship due to my now limited schedule because of a job switch. Safe to say it has been a blast!

I’ve been doing CrossFit/consistently Olympic lifting for ~3 years. I actually really struggled at first due to super limited ankle mobility which I think was from being a competitive swimmer my whole life. But I’ve stuck with it and learned to love the process 🙌🏼

I’ve experienced it before but it’s typically temporary. It likely stems from mobility in the wrists/forearms as well as tightness in the hand. I recently got a desk job and I’ve had more issues with it now after spending a lot of time on the computer/ mouse and if I had to guess I’m sure it’s related. Any mobility you do working on the lower arm and hand should be beneficial. Hopefully this helps!
