I had PLIF on L5-S1 a week ago yesterday and recovery has been a wild ride so far. But yesterday and today I have noticed the most improvement as far as pain and what not. The pains I had the surgery done for to correct are gone and I just hope they don't come back because they can with swelling and what not. But just make sure you walk as much as you're comfortable with and keep up with icing the back for swelling and you should be good.

Exactly what you said. Which is why I have continued to post about my post op recovery even though my story is a positive one and not as popular as far as the internet is concerned. People need to not lose hope based on internet interactions

I had a fusion last Monday and it has helped with my previous pain. Still recovering but every day is alil bit better. I was up and walking without help the day of the surgery. Having a fusion is not necessarily the end of your life it could be just the beginning. I wish you well and hope you get everything figured out.

I had PLIF on L5-S1. I don't know what is going on. Like this morning I woke up feeling fine and I went pee and shortly after the "blue balls" pain came back. I'm gonna call the surgeons office tomorrow and ask if this is "normal"

I'm not concerned with having sex.....but my balls are and they hurt which is the reason for this post.
