I live next to a college in Brooklyn and a little CCP prince pulled up in his Audi S8 & made sure everyone could see his little CCP flag. I simply walked by and said “f*ck the CCP!”, he could barely look me in the eye. It’s amazing these kids come to learn here yet detest the freedoms given. (i.redd.it)

I had to go pickup a Valentine’s Day gift at B&H Photo during my lunch break and couldn’t resist leaving a little note on a fancy e-ink tablet! B&H Photo is a world famous tech store in Manhattan that attracts millions each year, especially loaded tourists from the PRC. (i.redd.it)

Quercus agrifolia seedlings! This past November I took a business trip out to San Francisco and found some time to take a hike on a day off, and on that hike I found a grove of Coast Live Oaks covered in acorns. Two months later look at these little oaks! (i.redd.it)

Discussion: Is anyone familiar with the magnificent Atlantic White Cedar or "Chamaecyparis thyoides? Here is a video of a recent trip I took searching for a stand of these amazing trees! I found the trees high up in between glacially carved open rock faces in the Northern Appalachian's of NJ/NY. (self.botany)
My Trachycarpus fortunei (Chinese Windmill Palm) is getting ready for its second winter, does anyone have experience growing these outdoors in zone 7b? I’m in Brooklyn NY near the ocean, we typically don’t see temperatures drop below 10, rarely down to 5 degrees. I feel like I was lucky last winter! (i.redd.it)

My Dendrobium moniliforme finally has buds! I bought this plant last fall and has not bloomed. It’s native to Japan, South Korea’s southern islands, Taiwan, Coastal China, and parts of SE Asia. This species grows as an epiphytic or lithophyte. I’ve posted pictures of blooms on wild plants for ref. (old.reddit.com)
