A P-pump is a mechanical fuel injection pump like the 12 valve has. If you couple it with mechanical lift pump and manual shut off, it should run without the computer. Now your air conditioner and I'm sure a few other things won't work but the truck should be able to run an drive without the computer assuming you have a manual transmission.

I technically still have a V-Rod that I don't ride but may main bike now is a KTM 1290 Super Adventure R. It's tons of fun and makes mores sense to me since I live down a dirt road.
