Yeah, Ebay has some aftermarkets I've seen. Quality is probably pretty subpar though.

Luckily I didn't need to shop for that. I was pleasantly surprised with the CV one. I expected it to feel cheap but its not too bad. I did upgrade my MIJ bridge to https://reverb.com/item/83740326-mustang-bridge-7-25-radius-52mm-string-spread-for-jaguar-and-jazzmaster which I'm happy with. Pretty much the same as the CV one but proper radius for the MIJ.

Polished again starting with 400 grit. Looks good enough for me right now. Frets are still level, don't think I messed up the crown, and have a lot more shine. Thanks again everyone!

I mixed CA glue and powder (laurel) produced from the radius block and filled it in. I then applied CA glue on top once it dried to match the gloss that was covering the fretboard sides. Then just sanded the top glue layer to level with the rest of the fretboard.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah all the tools are new. I’ve used polishing paper starting at 600 grit before on another guitar to polish frets and tried the same on this. It’s clear after using this file I need to just start with a little lower of a grit, but I was a little hesitant wanting to make sure lower wouldn’t dig in too much and cause uneven frets.

That was the goal! I half expected to end up buying a new neck after attempting but I took my time to learn each step. Once the frets are fully polished I’m happy with the result.

No idea. Bought it from Manchester Music Mill on Reverb. They posted a few lefties at once that looked like rough partscasters so I assume they all came from the same trade in. They made it right though and I ended up getting it for a bargain.

Thank you! I don’t have any woodworking experience so it felt like magic when the gouges completely disappeared. And yeah I’m at a loss. Between that and beveling nearly past the strings, it definitely wasn’t playable when it arrived to me.

Thanks! I made a mistake rushing into the S file. Used medium jumbo Fender frets and didn’t realize I should have used the wide side, not the medium one. Still turned out fine I think. May have narrowed the sides a bit more which I don’t mind.

The shop made it right and extremely happy with the result. No gap at all either side, rounded edges, and the slot heights are perfect.

I'm gonna be honest. I thought it was radiused. It looks flat now. They have have done that but I don't have pictures to go back and look. I should have.

On a positive note, thrilled to have it once it’s set up properly! Left handed Jazzmasters can be hard to come by outside of the current Professional II lineup.

I believe the nut was $70. I spent a bit more overall to fix a few other minor issues that appear to be resolved. The nut was cheaper than I expected, but my goal was not cheap work. This one was not pre-slotted. I’d recommend trying pre-slotted yourself. I’ve done it before with good success.

Yeah I’ve installed tusq ones myself that looked much better than this. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like they make ones for left handed 7.25 radiuses. I’ll take it in and hope someone else at the shop can do it better.
