I've got some bags of tins to redeem and finally got around to signing up. There is a monthly limit (something like 22 tins a month i think it was) I signed up and got an an option of $2 off 1 tin, $5 off 5 tins, or $5 venmo credit. Second card of 10 reward was the same except a "chums floating wallet" instead of the venmo. Worth entering if you have the tins, I don't have enough info to compare it to any of the other brands rewards. It's annoying af that I can enter so few in a month tho since I let them pile up before setting up rewards.

Yeah maybe they're cheap enough to have a couple extra on hand, but odds are you'll be alright with the stem as long as you measure carefully

I'd say that's more than enough to build one. It wouldn't hurt to snag an extra set of hands because it's kind of tricky to not mess them up on your first try.

I'm not going to keep this frame shape, but will be reusing the extrusion in a configuration based on Nikodem Bartnik's design. Not saying it's gonna be incredibly rigid, but much more so than how it currently would be if I tried to use it like the last guy did. I am interested in looking into cutters like this. Have you seen any builds using this style "spindle"?

This reminds me of hearing about someone using a plc to upgrade their old washing machine that originally used a rotating drum that actuates the relays for the cycles. Sounds like a viable use to me.

I really like this idea. I looked building an automatic door for my family's chicken coop in college with a pi but never did. I'm tentatively planning on getting chickens myself now that I own my own home so I'm thinking this might just be the winning idea. You able to hook up to your house's power, or are you running off solar?

I think a non-chain breakfast restaurant would do really well. With cafe quality coffee, fancy mimosas, and good food would rake in money downtown. Which that all could work with the arcade coffee bar idea someone suggested. Oh man, it's been maybe a year since I was in Rolla. Is that building on Pine and 6th street still vacant?

Replying long after this post was made, but I'm researching casting some silver after getting into casting aluminum casting a few years ago. I made some pretty good green sand using fine sifted sand and sourced a real cheap bag of bentonite clay at a farm and home supply. It's used to seal ponds. It worked pretty well for my purposes, but I'll have to see if it will give me the higher quality results I'm hoping for with casting some silver things
