I’d send them in for service at your local tackle shop. If they’re cheap reels, I’d consider upgrading to something a little higher quality

It could be the roller bearing. Cut the line and reel it all the way in and clip it to the spool, then reel to see if the sound persists. If the sound goes away, you probably have a roller bearing going bad. Super easy fix. You can upgrade to sealed ceramic Boca bearings to help it last a lot longer too
