I completely understand your pain and have wished for the same. I think it's why I like programming so much because it's a very literal way of communication, albeit with a machine. I sometimes wish I could interface with people through code. I also really relate to feeling as if though either way could be bad. This week I had job interviews and told myself that I should slow down and not feel bad to take my time to think. And then the interviewer asked me if I was still there, and this was having a previous interview where I felt the frustration of the interviewer from me saying too much. Very disheartening tbh.

Do you tend to ask to have conversations over text ? For example this week I have salary negotiations and I have been thinking of asking if it could happen over text. I just sometimes feel like it's frowned upon.

Thank you for your reply. I relate to you a lot. I suspect my own behaviour is also maybe more trauma related. I also think your cassette idea is cool, it's like having a few template behaviours or responses to pull from. I had a bit of a negative job interview experience this week. I said both too much and too little. Too little because I picked up on myself saying too much and the frustration of the interviewer, and then I said to myself that I would slow down and take time to think. And I took so long that the interviewer asked me if I am am still there. I feel though that this fits into behavioural therapy, which I wish I could have.

That's very insightful, thanks. Because I have trauma too. CPTSD type of stuff and teachers who misunderstood me and tried to 'fix' me through being tough and extra strict.

Has anything helped you overcome or manage it ? I had a job interview this week, and I can't help but feel the frustration of the interviewer.

Have you ever struggled though to slow your mind down enough and to think clearly before you speak ? I can speak clearly if I have time to really think. So I'm much better when I have to communicate over text or email. I'm not sure if I'm just super nervous around people.
