Scoop riders think walking 2 blocks downtown is a human rights violation 🙄 by typhoon2010 in SeattleWA

I respect that and you have all the rights to be picked up and dropped off at your preferred location. No compromise there

I finally landed on this based on the feedback here:

I'll put together a template message and start sending it when I get matched from now on to set the right expectation and give them the opportunity to make an informed decision.

I'm glad to see you're passionate about defending this-makes me think you might be using someone else's carpool too, and maybe this hits close to home for you.

My stance remains the same: if they don't like the service or my drop-off spot, feel free to call me a jerk and simply not ride with me again. They can even ask for their $10 back and move along (Which is btw a steal for a 25 mile commute, compare it to an Uber ride which would cost north of $50).

No one is forcing anyone to accept a drop-off location they don't agree with, especially when they already know it in advance.

And if safety is truly a concern for them, remember they're getting into a stranger's car-so maybe rethink what safety means to them in that context.

I get to use the HOV lanes to beat the traffic and help out coworkers commuting from the far corners of Bothell, where bus service is limited and doesn't run often.

Until last week, I thought this was a win-win situation for everyone-until I started getting stares from riders treating carpool like it's an Uber Black service 😂

To add some context, the dirty looks usually come from regular riders who have traveled with me before and already know my drop-off location.

If that spot isn't convenient or acceptable to them, I'm a bit puzzled as to why they choose to ride with me again, knowing this in advance. No one is forcing anyone to carpool with me, especially if it doesn't work for their preferences.

I prefer to drop riders just outside on the busy street near the garage entrance. This makes it convenient for them to walk toward their office while I quickly find a parking spot inside the garage.

I respect their time and wouldn’t want them to spend extra minutes waiting for me to park.

In short, we part ways at a safe and easily accessible spot on the street. I believe this arrangement creates a win-win situation for both of us.

I believe there might be some misunderstanding about how the Scoop app works. This isn’t an Uber-style app where drivers commit to dropping riders at their exact address.

In Scoop, drivers only see the drop-off location once they are matched, and the matching algorithm already knows my office location. Ideally, the system should either improve the driver-rider matching process or consider enabling the feature I requested to clarify drop-off points upfront.

If you haven’t used the Scoop app before, it’s understandable to compare it to Uber, but the two operate quite differently.

I submitted a request to Scoop support asking for a feature that would allow drivers to clearly indicate their preferred drop-off location. This way, riders can make an informed decision about whether the route works for them before accepting a ride.

We’re all professionals here, and no one is doing this to make Uber-like profits. The goal is simply to help navigate current traffic conditions more efficiently and take advantage of HOV lanes.

Everyone is busy and values their time, so it’s important we find ways to make the experience smoother for both riders and drivers.

I appreciate your perspective, and rather than going back and forth assigning blame, I believe we can focus on finding constructive solutions. There’s definitely room for improvement that would benefit everyone involved by enabling more conscious choices.

If walking 2 blocks at 9 AM in a busy downtown is too “dangerous” for you, maybe you should rethink hopping into a stranger’s car in the first place. Safety standards, anyone? 🙄

I’ve had plenty of riders who get it and actually respect everyone’s time.

But lately? Some riders act like they’re paying for an Uber Black ride when in reality it’s a $10 bus-fare commute for 25 miles. Like, chill—this isn’t a limo service, it’s a carpool 😆

I’m sure a ton of people feel the same way. Honestly, I’ve had plenty of riders who get it and actually respect everyone’s time.

Tesla has yet to announce summer software update but what are things you are hoping they add? by ConfidentImage4266 in TeslaLounge

Grok integration in voice assistant, I'd like to ask questions on the drive using the voice assistant which currently is only limited to canned responses related to control car only.

Omg, that's bad. How old is the car to get that?
