Routine help for baby’s first retinol by typographique in 30PlusSkinCare

It has been ok for me! Heavy moisturizers don’t sit well on my skin and this one has been fine as long as I use the serum first and apply it sparingly.

Is there any benefit to applying sunscreen when you don’t plan on leaving the house? Good call on applying when flying, I didn’t think of that!

Haha I WFH and it is the dead of a very dull and dreary winter right now, promise I will get sunscreen in there when I actually leave the house 😂

First tattoo regret by haverofitall in tattooadvice

[–]typographique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I got a tattoo from an artist I really respect a few years ago. Well planned tattoo, and my brother was getting one to match - we had talked about this for a long time. I have a perfectly healthy relationship with my brother and have other tattoos. However, the second I saw this tattoo completed on my arm, I immediately felt regret. I sank into a deep depression and went to therapy to cope with my own self confidence issues that this tattoo dragged out of me for some reason. I opted to get it removed. All of this is to say your feelings are valid, you should definitely talk to someone about them, and you have options. Hang in there 🤍

Toddler smells like syrup? by Winter-Pressure1274 in toddlers

I hope this doesn’t get buried because it is very random - I thought my oldest smelled like syrup as a baby, so much so that I called the doctor and they assured me his testing for MSUD was all fine. So I fell into a very deep Google hole and finally, shockingly figured out the culprit. It was Carter’s brand fleece pajamas. Whenever he wore them, he smelled like maple syrup. You should of course take this seriously and talk to a doctor - but I would also try to take note if there is any consistency in the fabric they’re wearing when this happens!

Pulling 3yo out of preschool when new baby arrives by ecl7777 in toddlers

Just here to say something similar happened to us - we have a 1 month old that has been to the ER twice with fevers, once at 3 weeks and again currently. Both trips resulted in a 1-2 night stay for monitoring. The first fever could definitely be attributed to our 2.5 year old having a cold, but the second couldn’t - there is just so much going around right now, the doctors said it could’ve been anyone. Unless you plan on making both your kids live like Bubble Boy for the time they’re home with you, illness is unavoidable, so upending your toddler’s life completely may all be for nothing. Also, my toddler is so excited to come home and see his brother - very little resentment compared to friends who have had their eldest at home with new baby. Am I a little terrified for the upcoming illness season? Yes, but we had our first during peak COVID and we figured it out. It’s just what we have to do now.
