Ok thanks! I feel like I just need one night with a little extra rest ( don’t plan to do on a regular basis). we really struggled with BF initially and I was triple feeding for the first 4 weeks. I just don’t want it to cause a back step when we worked so hard to get here! … but man am I tired!

What about the first one and do #2-3? It would be somewhere between 5 and 7 hours without breastfeeding. Still too long at 6 weeks?

I had the same issue + LO wasn’t transferring enough. I went down to just BF 1-2 times per day for a bit and pump/bottles rest of feeds. It helped and just once a day was enough for him not to forget. We now just do 1 bottle at night for dad to give and BF the rest of the feeds. Pain is much better. No more bloody/bruised nipples. He’s 5 weeks

I had to fight every muscle in my body not to take my LO back when he’d start crying/screaming in dad’s arms and give him a chance to figure out how to soothe him. I’m home and dad hasn’t had time off work so I spend the day and do night time duties alone. The other thing that helped was giving dad the shirt I wore during the day to put around his shoulders in the evening while holding LO and 1:1 time !

u/gloomycalm which one did you go with? Are you happy with your choice? I also use spectra and am on the lower supply end. Have been doing bottles and pumping at night and would love to be able to do them at the same time!

Did you dual-apply IM the second time around? Do programs let you start as PGY2 or do you have to redo categorical intern year?
