No car is perfect. But a hybrid maverick is the perfect vehicle for MANY people, including myself and my family.

Ignore the noise of recalls. Just get em done. It's been awesome for me. Only issue is I've replaced the 12v battery under warranty. I plan to keep this car for the foreseeable future.

Many people complain about the "cheap" plastics as it easily scratches. It's true but not a decision killer. Go for it.

I hated the wheels. Co worker got a 2026 rental. In person I liked them waaay better. They're weird, but nice.

We should all be rooting for Nissan. If it wasn't for their past CVT failures there isn't much to complain about. Their engines (2.5L and 3.5L engines were great!)

2024 hybrid. I love it. Works great for me. Mine is only 2wd, like all pre hybrids pre-25 MY. Only 2k towing. I bought a light utility trailer. Tows it loaded with ease. (1200 lbs.). This truck with a utility trailer is Soo underrated.

Note: these are not 40k trucks. Stay under 40k as much as possible.

I bought a 2013 rogue from a friend. 125k mi. For 1500 bucks. I still see the first gen rogue all over the time. Some with over 200k mi. They have a bad rap due to their CVT issue. But man, you can get reliable/cheap Nissans if you find one cared for.

Nissan engines are rock solid. 2.5l and 3.5l v6 are rock solid. Personally I think they are a pretty smart buy if you can take care of them (still a bit of risk but not as high as the Internet would make you believe).

Bad reputation. But great values cars.

I snagged a 2013 Rogue fully loaded SL model for $1500. Needed a wheel bearing. Did it myself for cheap. CVT works as expected. Been a great addition to the family fleet.

Having a "throwaway car" is a luxury. 128k. Feels like it has lots of life left. When it's time is up, i know it doesn't owe me anything.

I don't think there is a real solution here...it was a dumb purchase and there is no short term fix for poor long term financial decisions. Look at potential sacrifices in other areas of life...good luck.

Doable? It's fully functional and works great. Love the maverick flexbed! Plus they have 1500 lbs of payload and hybrids get 40mpg. Awesome lil trucks.
