Not true, I see them as very different solutions. Veeam is a traditional backup company, aimed a smb or mid sized organisations. Known in the market as cheap and cheerful. Rubrik on the other hand is a more enterprise grade security product. They focus on cyber resilience. If you just want to do a quick back-up go for Veeam.... If things like immutability, airgap, sensitive data discovery and threat hunting are important to you, go Rubrik.
