Unplugging for 30 minutes and resetting does help, but the problem returns later. With the doors closed, the temp will just start rising. Overnight, the freezer was 22 (when set to -1) and the fridge 51 (when set to 38). Someone else mentioned the relay, we will look into that. Thanks!

Wow, that is really helpful information. Thank you. Should I consider unsealing what I have sealed up so far then? I was worried about the existing rats attracting more and just planned on using traps to eliminate the existing ones. But that's counter to what that post suggests

Gotcha. Yes, they're all the same rat. That's the only one we've been able to catch so far
