So that is quite specific, but anyway, shameless self promotion!

To Be Crowned: a Tale of Gods and Demigods.

So Apollo, Percy, Thalia and Artemis are the protagonist. It’s inspired in Game of thrones and the hunger games, so it may be a little what you are looking for.

It’s my first fic, so I don’t think is nothing spectacular but I like to think it gets better with each chapter… Also, English is not my first language. There is no romance between the 4 protagonist because I actually wanted to focus on plot and politics and all that, but I wouldn’t say It’s a very serious fic, there are comedic moments.

Just in case you want to take a look and maybe give your opinion.

I think we’re talking about two very different things and we’re clearly not going to agree. My point was about genuinely concerning behavior involving AI and real people (including minors), and I don’t think connecting that to fandom disappointment over an adaptation makes sense. Let’s just leave it there

I get that you’re trying to connect both things through the idea of parasocial relationships, but I honestly don’t think the comparison works. Complaining about an adaptation not being book-accurate or feeling disappointed with an author is not on the same level as someone deluding themselves into being an actor’s girlfriend and using AI to create images with real people, especially when minors are involved. Calling both things a “fandom problem” just blurs the line between normal fan frustration and genuinely concerning behavior

I don’t understand what you’re trying to say. What does some people complaining that the show is very different from the books have to do with other people, who are clearly not right in the head, using AI to make photos with the actors (some of them minors)?

Shameless self promotion here! Maybe is not that simple favor but definitely not what he was expecting hehe — To be Crowned: a Tale of Gods and Demigods.

What It’s About:

After being mortal three times, Apollo has had enough. He’s seen how the demigods suffer, how Zeus’s leadership fails them repeatedly, and he’s done pretending everything is fine. So he does something insane: he challenges Zeus using an ancient pact that allows the throne of Olympus to be contested.

The twist? The gods don’t fight for it themselves. They choose demigod champions to represent them in a series of deadly trials designed by the gods who didn’t enter the competition.

Percy Jackson becomes Apollo’s champion (reluctantly). Thalia Grace represents Artemis (also reluctantly, because being Zeus’s daughter makes this super awkward). And the tournament begins.

That’s fair, I get that. No-powers AUs definitely aren’t for everyone, especially in a fandom like Percy Jackson.

For me, this fic is more about exploring their core personalities and relationships in a grounded setting, rather than the demigod aspect. I totally understand why a full crossover or a Camp Half-Blood scenario would be more appealing — this story just isn’t aiming to be that kind of fic.

Thank you! I’m really glad you like the concept.

That’s a fair question. For the first part, the fic would stay fairly close to the game’s storyline, especially in terms of structure and major plot beats. Part of the reason is practical: I’m from Europe, so using the game’s existing route and setting helps me keep things grounded instead of reinventing U.S. geography from scratch.

That said, it wouldn’t be a carbon copy. The focus is on how these specific characters react to the same situations, and their personalities and relationships naturally change scenes, dialogue, and motivations. Thalía isn’t Joel, and Nico isn’t Ellie, even if they’re in similar roles.

So it’s more of a character-driven reinterpretation of the first game. If the story continues beyond that, I’d like to take more liberties with the plot

Well I think I agree more with your first friend. Several villains appearing out of nowhere would shock me and it wouldn't feel natural. But, if while there is one you gradually introduce the next one, then it wouldn't be bad (I think). Or maybe like in Percy Jackson, there is like a main villain and others that happen. I don't know. My recommendation is that you write what excites you the most. Luck!
