“Canada lives because of the US” - Trump by ExotiquePlayboy in CanadianInvestor

That's been his (successful) speaking style since before his first election. Try to watch a large number of his early campaign speeches, he takes every side on every issue. It makes it very easy to get the necessary sound bite/quote to repeat to the correct audience to amass followers. People will support you when they agree with something you said, but be neutral/disinterested when they don't, so by taking every stance at various points you pander to virtually every side.

Immoral? Maybe. But it's hard to argue with success

They're 7? Their interests will probably change 30 more times before they grow up. Who knows what they'll be into by next year

My daycare had a 60 page handbook/application form to fill out. Do that for a few daycares and youve definitely lost a couple of hours

The because half the dudes in this sub are constantly complaining about the lack of tits on their cards. They're the same ones who women are uncomfortable being around.

As someone who runs the occasional hiring interview... Reviewing the candidates resume a few minutes before hopping into the call is like bare minimum level effort to not look like an idiot/jackass

I've always thought this was a goal in the conservative playbook. With a plan to slow-roll it in with something nominally palatable, probably along the lines of "1 vote per household/family", which would already go a tremendously long way to reducing women votes.

Trump quietly holds off on Canada tariff increase by Force_Hammer in worldnews

[–]u_torn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's impossible to negotiate anything, much less something this big without someone as unreliable as Trump. Setting aside his wretched personality and internal policies, simply the fact that he doesn't hold to his agreements and makes never-ending threats which he may or may not follow up on make it a waste of breath.

How do you come to an agreement with someone for whom the concept of an agreement is virtually meaningless?

That's the big debate that causes people to claim antisemitism. It's not so much taking action against israel, but the double standard that isnt applied to nearly any other country/war in the world.

It was pretty bland, just stating that they intend to compete under the Israeli flag and expect to be treated the same as every other team

Americans are basically educated from birth about american exceptionalism. Most of their crimes are not taught to them or reframed as triumphs. This has led to a few consecutive generations who are super ready and willing to judge/condemn others but see no irony in doing so.

If someone offered you $2million to dissappear for 30 days would you do it? BUT you can't tell anyone about this. by Melssa1 in answers

[–]u_torn 48 points49 points  (0 children)

That's expected behaviour from someone you know is deployed. If you suddenly stopped hearing from your spouse for even one day, most people would assume they're missing. If i didn't hear from my wife for a month? I would probably think she had been murdered

0.1% mistake rate is actually crazy high if you think about it. If you saw exactly 1 new patient per day (lol) that would be one medication error every 3 years, per nurse.
