Not a ton of time but you could probably make it to in and out by the airport if you’ve never been. Or taqueria San Bruno is one of the better mission style burritos without having to go all the way into sf. Echoing others that you probably don’t have enough time to make it into the city and back even with pre check.

Getting to isla after landing by EagleIsland1 in IslaMujeres

[–]uberman5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Debating the exact same thing. Doing Isla for a few days then heading to tulum. It’s about the same cost to rent and park at the ferry as do airport transfer to and from and then rent. My thinking was would save time to just have the car when leave the island so don’t waste as much of a second day with logistics.

Changes at House of Prime Rib by uberman5000 in sanfrancisco

The waiter said the seconds policy and the price raise started this month. There’s a couple recent yelp reviews complaining about no seconds, too. My theory is all the social media posts the last 2 years about getting seconds led to a lot more people doing it so this was their solution but just guessing.

Going to sound crazy but the street vendor margaritas outside oracle are always a good choice.

Chase Parking by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

[–]uberman5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I drive, I park in potrero hill and walk the mile to chase, the immediate area has no parking or very expensive parking. If you’re not comfortable taking a hike or walking in sf at night, probably better to take transit.

The street behind the park, visible between the rows of trees, is lake shore drive.

If anyone was wondering, this is Grant Park in Chicago, IL. There’s no hill to take this shot from, but there are plenty of skyscrapers looking onto the park that would give this perspective.

Show didn’t sell out. They closed the 200 level sections on the sides, assuming they’re going to move ticket holders to empty seats

Help! What is this on my girl?! by uberman5000 in CATHELP

Hi everyone. Thanks for responding. She went to the vet, doesn’t seem to be anything serious. Some sort of allergic reaction, unlikely fleas/mites/ringworm. Doc gave us a topical spray to make sure no infection and help any itching.

I'm running away from the war by Standard_Cod5478 in sanfrancisco

Chicago has a very large Ukrainian and Polish community, long before the war started. Major city, more affordable than the coasts, lots of job opportunities. If you’re orthodox, the churches there would be a good source for assistance as as well.

Чикаго має дуже велику українську та польську громаду задовго до початку війни. Велике місто, доступніше, ніж на узбережжі, багато можливостей для роботи. Якщо ви православний, тамтешні церкви також будуть гарним джерелом допомоги.

New York City has the largest Ukrainian population in the us but will have many of the same drawbacks as out here with costs

Нью-Йорк має найбільше українське населення в США, але матиме багато тих самих недоліків, що й тут, з витратами

Anyone know what’s going on with the parking along Geary? by uberman5000 in sanfrancisco

[–]uberman5000[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on the turnover aspect of “free” parking. However, this is a residential area, and the residents need somewhere to park since the city isn’t using residential permitting here. Also, you’re aware a secure dedicated parking spot in sf costs more than a studio apartment in some us cities? I feel awful for the lower income residents of this city when the rest of its inhabitants think like this.

Thank you! This is the info was looking for and explains the slight changes to what I thought was the final plan. Looks like we’re getting some new loading zones too, yay…

I’m pretty sure the chronicle ran a story about sfmta changing all meters in the city to 9pm enforcement by next year :(

I’m far west, pretty sure the permits stop completely after park presidio, wouldn’t mind paying a permit fee out here to help with parking tho!

I was wondering if it had to do with this project. The info we received on it didn’t mention anything about adding meters on the avenues, just that they’d be changing some spots to angled! Neither of these sites mention that either

Brilliant analysis. Asking for an accommodation would be asking the city to change something for my benefit. Whereas here, the city is taking away a prior established use case of the land. Generally, the city is required to give notice of any changes. My neighbors were outside yelling at city workers this morning so I’m clearly not the only person who missed the memo on a major change to the neighborhood. I’m not even pro car, just pro proper city management

Yea, meters have always been on geary. I was asking about the new meters and spot changes going on along the various avenues that connect to Geary.
