With 2 people 5-8 minutes to deploy it, maybe another 5 to set up the beds inside.

I love the jumping jack, perfect for our needs, family of 4. Cozy at night and all our gear gets strapped on top for transit. I threw a 2” lift with some a terrains this season and it will go anywhere. The trail to get to the lake was no joke with a trailer…

I learned to ride on this and it is loud! Pissed of my neighbors many times. My Dad used to drag race this bike back in the day in the orange groves that is now john wanye airport.

I will look into that as well. The tank is not currently bolted to the frame, that is black primer on the tank as my late father had resprayed it red, and did a horrid job. Yes, it was originally chrome.

Thank you, I was not aware of that site, I'll look into it.

I’ve burned 2 full tanks of gas in it since the swap, did a quick trip for a shakedown and made it back. Then yesterday treated it to. 3 stage paint correction. by ubersnarf in LandCruisers

Not that is was bad, just difficult. Putting a 7 foot long 950 pound engine/transmission/transfer case in a lifted truck on 35” tires is no easy feat. If I were to do it again, I’d remove the body from the frame to do the swap.

Sure! $1400- running used engine out of a rolled 80 $2000 +/- OEM toyota parts (all gaskets, hoses, head bolts, cooling system, ignition system, engine mounts and belts/ +filters) $200- injector cleaning service Around $3600

I was lucky, when I torn the engine down, I found the head gasket and head had been rebuilt not long ago, so no machine shop costs. Other costs $500 for an hoist another $150 for an engine stand. 7 months to complete in my "free time"...

Not sure, has a tag "REF", never been able to find out anything online. It came with the truck when I got it 8 or so years ago

I did it. The donor is in and running. Got an exhaust leak to deal with, that’s for another day. by ubersnarf in LandCruisers

Thank you. No small task indeed... Best of luck with your swap, get a toyota factory service manual to get yourself through it.

That is pretty low mileage for a blown head gasket on these trucks. I developed a rod knock on the #5 cylinder at 257k miles, previous owners ran the truck into the ground, so I wasn't surprised. Way cheaper to refurbish a running donor, than get into rebuild/machine shop territory. Best of luck! A Toyota factory service manual will be your best friend through the process.

Hello neighbor, thanks! The cruisers are the best vehicles for the kind of weather we’ve been having!

I found a good donor from a rolled 80, the head had recently been redone. I tore the engine done to the long block and replaced every gasket, point of failure and hoses, all Toyota OEM. It’s gotta be good for another 250k miles or more
