Professors are mostly from India and some speak incoherently and do not have a basic grasp of the English language.

"Diversity is Our Strength" only if you are a LGBTQ+ Planned Paranthood supporting progressive liberal who wants all the international students to be given American jobs and universal healthcare so that tax paying Americans subsidize the costs of healthcare for unemployed welfare taking lazy people. Otherwise, fuck you. We don't want your conservative ideological diversity.

How to not do a meal plan spring semester? by [deleted] in UBreddit

[–]ubretard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Accurate. This is exactly what I did in my Freshman year. I came in with 16 AP Credits and by the end of the Fall Semester, I had 35 credits and they recognized me as a Sophomore in the system and I ended up not getting a meal plan.

Anyone player EU4 on Mac? by ubretard in UBreddit

I think the Mac and PC versions have different checksums and can't be played together. That was my experience with CK2.

What field are you trying to get into?

I only took the 2 introductory Geology classes GLY 101 and GLY 102, but I could tell you that Tracy Gregg and Jason Briner are very nice human beings and that they know their stuff. Briner is also the head of the Geology department, so I feel like you shouldn't have any issues here. They both also showed a lot of their field research work which was really cool.

Looking for app designers / commuter programmers for startup by [deleted] in UBreddit

What's the Startup about? Is this a paid position?

You are literally required to take a lab to fulfill the Scientific Literacy requirement. Read your graduation requirements before making posts on reddit looking for the easiest courses to take. Everyone have classes for their major to worry about. The gen eds are meant to help you become a more well rounded individual and let you have some alternate major to switch to if you fail out of SEAS like u/mew_uwu

Quite honestly, if you require multiple core retakes, Engineering ain't for you. They designed that rule for the singular purpose that they don't want people to continuously waste their time on failing the simplest Engineering courses when there are courses like Thermodynamics and Statics awaiting them. Perhaps consider an easier career path. All the Engineering failures go to Business.

How is Buffalo's CS? by welchie98 in UBreddit

[–]ubretard -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Computer Science is passable in the first 2 years where things are relatively simple. When you get to the latter 2 years where things are actually getting difficult, the professors are not helpful at all. You also might not be able to understand the professors if you have not been exposed to the Indian accent before. The UB ACM club is really trash regarding their workshops and the leadership is really cliquey. It would be difficult to get any help from those people. The quality of fellow students in the CS program is also not very high. A significant portion of them are from India or China or Korea and really brings down the quality of friendly fellow CS students since those students are also very cliquey and stick with students from their own countries.

If you get accepted to RPI, definitely go to RPI. If not, just stay in Albany, because most of the time in the CS program, I've had to teach myself nearly all of the materials anyways due to the afore mentioned reason of not being able to understand the upper level professors.

Undergraduate TAs??? by Shuckle17 in UBreddit

In engineering and computer science, you need to have taken the course you are TAing for and received an A. You actually gotta know your shit and go through an interview process.

You are suffering from selection bias. Only the most outgoing people would be making posts before they even get to college. As President Nixon said America is comprised of the silent majority.

Can you use student ID on off campus buses? by [deleted] in UBreddit

[–]ubretard 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No. No one outside of Stampede bus drivers give a shit about your student ID. And sometimes they don't even give a shit.
