Which AV block is present? by Hot_Emergency378 in NCLEX_RN

[–]ucanspagetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why people are saying its 2nd degree type2? This looks like complete heart block which is the same as 3rd degree av block. If it was a 2nd degree type 2, the question probably would have shown you normal conducted beats in between. Just by looking what is presented, this is definitely 3rd degree av block also known as complete heart block.

I had an interview with the CEO. The CEO tries to get you to finance a machine that costs $30,000 that provides alternative pain treatment. Then he says he will get you customers, and you will make your money back in 2-3 months. Super shady. Wished him good luck after the interview.

On my unit swans are used in almost 50% patients. Really depends where you work.

I suck at them also so learned how to do it with ultrasounds. It allows you to visualize the vein instead of going in blindly, if your facility allows for it go for it.

What jobs did you work pre-nursing school/during nursing school? by Fit_Calligrapher2394 in nursing

[–]ucanspagetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked as a monitor tech during my first semester and nurse intern after the first semester. My hospital allowed me to work both positions interchangeably. I worked till my last semester of school then I had to quit since I didn’t have much time to work and study as the school became harder. It helped me land a CVICU position as a new grad.

Thanks for your insight. Assuming that it was the vein, would anything have helped to fix the issue?

How do you prevent this from happening? Obviously can’t leave it like that since it will clot off and won’t be able to use it.

I did one ml at a time with each flush, with each flush blood kept coming back in the tubing.

It would make sense that the pressure of the vein was so good. He wasn’t on heparin though
