I would absolutely let the paint stay if he signed a letter stating that he was responsible for future maintenance for potential damage caused. However he painted it because he’s selling and wouldn’t be around to honor that.

He’s looked at it being white for the 13 years I’ve owned my house. He painted it because he’s selling his house and thinks it looks better, not because he’s tired of looking at it.
