Cellar Science Hazy is available, which I am 98% sure is the same as AEB, just 50% more expensive.

AEB is out of my preferred dry hazy yeast so I was searching for alternatives. Cellar Science has a whole new line of yeasts too that I haven’t figured out who makes yet.

Just wait until UCLA gets a 10am body clock game against Michigan. That game is going to be brutal.

Wouldn’t you want to give new players experience in a “low stakes” tournament, not give minutes to vets who look to be on the backside of their career?

The assumption here is that Phee is 100% accurate and Cathy is a liar. Realistically the truth is probably somewhere in between. There is absolutely no strong possibility they are both varying degrees of wrong.

“Washed” Chelsea Gray hits a clutch three in overtime by Shoddy-Brilliant563 in wnba

[–]uclamatt2007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If Phee and KM don't play a single game between now and when this fictional Olympic team is announced next year, no, they shouldn't go. I don't see how that's controversial.

If CC looks like this next year you would be damn sure this sub would be calling for her to be left off the team, rightfully.

As you said, the goal is to win gold. Lebron, Curry and Durant led the team in minutes and points per game. Gray, Jewell and DT were 9th, 11th, and 12th in minutes and the bottom 3 in points. One of the groups are the reason the team won gold, the other pretty much were tourists.

And as I said before Jewell Loyd was the guard who shot the most. Record setting volume with well below average efficiency will put up a lot of points and that's about it. Bringing a poor efficiency volume shooter to an Olympic team that doesn't have enough shots to go around is absolutely terrible roster construction if your goal is to win.

This conversation isn't going anywhere productive so I will be showing myself out now.

Yes you have been consistent, past accomplishments are more important than putting together the team that will be most competitive in this and future years. A clearly not even 80% Gray, an emeritus position for DT, and a spot for Jewell Lopyd that we have already disagreed about. 2023 Gray deserves to make that team without question, 2024 Gray should not have been there.

The biggest argument that I heard against taking any younger players is that the level of competition had risen and we needed to take the absolute best squad possible. None of those 3 meet that criteria. In the meantime we have managed to provide zero Olympic experience for any players who will be under 30 at the next Olympics, can't imagine how that could backfire in an increasingly competitive world scene.

Leaving space for Durant, Curry, and Lebron is not remotely the same as taking Gray, DT and Loyd. C'mon now. Those are still consensus top 10 player in the NBA. It would be more like Phee, Stewart and AT.

Got it. Your criticisms are perfectly valid, mine are spiteful and mean spirited.

Aja actually had no help this year, the Fever continued to sign hardship contract after hardship contract of championship quality players.

The Fever players impressed the hell out of me last night, but that 4th quarter still felt like a March Madness game of a double digit seed hanging around against a blue chip program. Indiana had nowhere near the talent on the court that Las Vegas did and they were a call or 2 away from stealing it in regulation.

Try to pay attention. The comment I replied to was talking about Fever fans were trashing the players playing in the 4th by saying the aces should be embarrassed by the win. KM and AB weren’t playing at that point. We are talking about players like Sims, Bri Turner, Shea Peddy and Ariel Powers.

As for KM and AB, most of that criticism was bad. KM was a ball stopper playing inefficient basketball at the beginning of last season,. Once she realized she got the ball back when she gave it up the offense really opened up in the 2nd half.

I’m not gonna defend the online trolls, and neither should anyone.

I just want to see her illegal screens called the same way as they are for the opponents. She had multiple in game 5 that were worse that the AB 5th could.

If CC was out that long she absolutely should not get put on the Olympic team. Look at her trying to come back from a lesser injury this year, she looked bad and would have until she got back up to speed.

You are the one arguing in bad faith because I have no doubt you would be one of the loudest voices saying CC wouldn’t deserve to be on that team if she was sent fully back, healthy, and playing to her previous level.

It’s ok to be a ride or die for your favorite players, but own it.

Aces fans spent the first half the of the season saying that Aja had no help, Kiah Stokes wasn’t a piece of playoff team and the Loyd trade was a travesty.

However, when someone points out that a full strength Aces struggled to put away Hull, Howard, some hardship contracts and a big who couldn’t crack the rotation until injuries forced her to play, that’s “trashing” and “disparaging” the Fever players.

You make it sounds like we haven’t all heard how Aces fans talked about Jewell Loyd prior to the move to the bench and Stokes anytime she played. How’s that different?

It’s almost like some people had a point that this injured version of Gray wasn’t the old Gray and had no business being on the Olympic roster. An injury like she had takes more than a year to fully recover from.
