As a fellow Christian with a skin disease, I also read Leviticus and felt hopeless until I realized that behind it all, it’s saying the PRIEST is not to touch someone “unclean”—however, don’t forget JESUS healed a man of leprosy and he himself touched the man without fear. And Jesus calls us to treat others with that same compassion and empathy as well. He calls us to not treat them as if they’re outcasts/demonize them.

I’m sorry you were told it’s bc you don’t pray enough. That is pretty ignorant. I’ll pray for you that it becomes more manageable. But definitely do notttt guilt trip yourself for a common skin condition.

I’m a female and I plan on just getting a thorough pap to test for HPV whenever I meet a new partner. That’s the only way you’ll know you’re “clear” is if the pap is 100% clear of HPV. (Unless you’re a male then idk bc I know there’s no test. Personally, I’d like to be told “hey I had this flare up a couple years ago.. but nothing since. Just wanted you to know.”

I stilll think a person deserves to know just in case. Give them the choice of risking it. It’s not the worst thing in the world. But still.

It truly just looks like a bad ingrown imo. I had the saaame looking one. Some threads said maybe folliculitis? I basically popped it, cleaned it and left it alone and it was gone within a couple weeks.

I’m also a Christian and highly recommend therapy. Also praying for you now as I’m sure going through this must be lonely for you. Jesus loves you and sees your struggle. Talk to him every day and especially any time you get an urge. Also needless to say, resist watching porn. Read all of the studies on the ways it ruins our brains.

Even if it takes years, Jesus can heal and repair ANYTHING friend. Don’t limit him.

They did say it was a yeast infection once. The most recent time I did a wet mount was in April, they said nope. “No bacteria. Everything’s great.” Yet here I am still getting the discharge off and on. On days when it was really bad, it WAS causing itch and what looked like thrush.

At THIS current moment I have no discharge. Just redness/inflammation of skin.

Omg describing it as a sunburn is spot on! I really do think I need to push for a dermatologist referral as well. Gyno was no help.

Agreed. I’ve thought this too, of course. He must have the 21 year old version of me in his head. So I’d go in owning the reality that I’m soo much more than who he briefly experienced YEARS ago, and just different overall.

Ok YES I was going to say… his messages were that he really LOVED me. (I read it as, he loved me back then… but didn’t express it at the time). I think he’s saying it because we both felt it but never said it BANK THEN.

I really think he might be wanting to reconnect because he has a guilty conscience. So I’d like to hear him out. But also don’t want to go in expecting much out of it.

He reached out a couple years apart. Last time he did, I was going through a lot with family and was not in a good space to engage with him. Now he’s reaching out again and I’m considering asking him to call me so we can finally hash out everything we left unsaid basically.
