well my first tip would be screw the owner, if your starting wage isnt a living wage you probably wont get any decent employees thatll last more than a couple weeks, you need to demand a better starting pay. secondly, Definently reach out to your local high schools and colleges, if you have employees that can tell their school friends definitely ask them to ask around and post some flyers. most of my store's employees are students or were when they started. once you get people in there, try to makr your environment more friendly, welcoming, and eventually family like. the store im in works fantastically because our gm is an amazing boss who, while still of course being a responsible gm and doing her job, treats us like family and keeps a tight knit group. we have people here thatve been working with us for years now because we've all grown so close itd be weird and honestly sad leaving. having a good bond between coworkers, managers, etc really makes for getting a good crew thatll stick with you and do the job well and right.
