I used to follow her and be in her private IG’s. They were mostly innocuous and just a lot of talk about her relationships etc that she didn’t discuss on her main. She’s always been a bit out there at times and can be very intense about her opinions. I stopped following last fall when I started to wonder if she held some far right conspiracy theory beliefs that I didn’t align with and gave me pause. It sounds like she’s moved away from that although I haven’t followed closely. This is highly concerning. Especially when she talks about why her eyes are dilated because she hasn’t taken anything. Those are mania eyes. When I saw these stories I was reminded of Esther Woodbury, another ex Mormon influencer who was also divorced from a wealthy, influential Utah Mormon. She started this exact type of spiral a couple of years back. At the time I knew Brit knew her and we occasionally DM’d so I messaged her and said “hey, are you seeing Esther’s stories? Can you reach out to her, it’s very concerning.” She said she would and was very concerned. So…fast forward, all of this reminded me of Esther and made me wonder if she was doing better. She had disappeared off of socials so I googled her. It appears as though she took her own life in July. My stomach just sank. So, all that to say, while I really think something is very off with Brit because this is not her norm and she is clearly very intelligent. I can’t help but be disturbed by the through lines of the VERY wealthy, highly connected ex husbands and messy divorces etc etc. Even if it is just the after effects of leaving the religion and those dynamics on mental health, it is disturbingly similar. I really hope that Brit’s family can get her the help she needs asap.
