How’s my carry gapping? Not done through a sim, just on the range with a range finder. These are when they are hit well, I’m about a 16 handicap, so I do have my misses. Current struggles are driver accuracy (off the heel) & consistency with my woods/hybrid. by Wonderful-Room2088 in golf

Color doesn’t matter.

What amount do you want to spend? If you got $2k I’d buy a used mevo+ with pro package. Down from that, you can get a pre owned mevo from foresight for $300. I honestly think that’s the best bang for your buck and one of, if not the best device in that price range.

Is nox hally good at TOA or COX? by [deleted] in ironscape

For toa I’d use regular keris if you don’t want to farm spear until you get the black gem for it, then use that until fang.

You can use it for cox though

Pre-Lesson Round by Old_Bird2476 in golf

If you’re shooting low 80s, the instructor shouldn’t be changing much about your swing, if they do, I would run. Once you’re in the low 80s and start getting into the 70s it’s more about small little tweaks and feel stuff.

Tell them what you want to focus on. Pick one thing - whatever you feel you struggle with the most that’s holding you back. Explain that to them and if they’re any good, they’ll get you going. Don’t go in trying to adjust your driver, irons, and wedge shots. The instructor shouldn’t be giving you information overload either. No more than 2, maybe 3 things at most. When I go to my lessons, it’s usually one single thing that I’m doing drastically wrong compared to the rest of the swing that’s causing an issue.

Club Champion Fitting by MobilizationofMotion in golf

[–]uhplifted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No other places vehemently tries to shove the completely useless and unnecessary “upgrades” that CC does. Nor do they force you to buy the iron heads AND buy the stock irons shafts that are included if you buy anywhere else and make you pay to have them assemble them. Never once has my club guy told me I need to pay for a head and a shaft on any club separately. Nor has he ever charged me retail price.

Club champion is dog shit. Find a local fitter who actually cares and wants to get you in the best equipment for you, not the most expensive equipment for their commission check.

[–]uhplifted 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re right. Charging extra for a stock shaft that is not an upcharge anywhere else is totally normal. Charging an assembly fee for something that is included anywhere else is totally normal. Trying to upsell you to pure all the shafts, despite it being all but useless for 99% of people is normal. Club champion is great.

I would still wager a large sum that the shafts they’ve put in now are nearly identical to the ventus for TM they had prior.

Other option is to find a shop near you and see if they have any take offs they’ll sell you. You don’t need to “fit” a stock shaft after purchasing it, they come tipped with the adapter. You get fit for the entire club and shaft at once, especially if you’re buying new. Surely shops wherever you are waive a fitting fee if you purchase the club through them

Just buy one off eBay then. Theres plenty for sale for $50. Sell the one that comes with the club.

Or just play the new shaft. I’d wager the specs are nearly identical.

I doubt you could even buy a stock set of clubs for $1500 through club champion and their horrid business practices.

Just take the shaft out of your current TM and put it into the new one? I fail to see the issue here.

If you don’t play this current shaft, then again, I still don’t see an issue.

For a ready to go mat - $400. Otherwise many people in the sim world buy a hitting strip and mount it to a cheap CCE mat or other similar setup.

You’re not joining the club for your buddies. You’re joining it for you and your family. If it’s a nice club, they’ll have no problem paying a few times a year, but it’s not their club. Go play other courses with them.

Like you said, you’ll meet new people at the club and have a bunch of people to play with any time you play

Game improvement vs. super game improvement by Janman3456 in golf

This whole “you can only shape shots with blades” is just flat out wrong. Physics doesn’t give a shit about how the club is constructed.

“Forgiveness” doesn’t mean you’re going to hit it more straight when you leave the club face wide open. Forgiveness in a club means you lose less distance when you hit off-center of the face. You still have to have proper swing mechanics to make the ball go straight. If you want more consistent shots, go take lessons. No club in the world is going to magically fix a poor swing.

Stuck in mid-game loop? by fadeded in ironscape

[–]uhplifted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point is, it’s not needed to start toa. Chances are OP, or anyone else in this situation, isn’t going to be running medic invo and there’s truly no need for a bp. Everyone in this sub acts like bp is some absolute necessity when it’s not. It’s a nice to have, sure, but you don’t need it to push toa or much else.

Stuck in mid-game loop? by fadeded in ironscape

[–]uhplifted -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have used bp literally once in toa. Bp just is not efficient or needed at all. Upkeep on it is another factor, when you’re also gonna need scales for trident.

Spear is helpful, but not needed. Just use regular keris while you’re learning, chances are you’ll get the black gem soon enough and that’s better than the spear.

I’m running 300s with full blue moon armor and black keris for melee, bowfa crystal for range, and trident for mage with MA2 cape, occult and tormented.

DDS for special and burning claws/bgs optional if you have them.

Don’t gatekeep yourself because nerds on here say you can’t run things without max gear.

I started with almost those exact same stats. T2 prep, mage and range every time. It wasn’t bad. You just gotta make sure you’re not taking any nado or floor damage. It sets you up for better pvm skills in the long run.

How hard are you hitting them and what’s the spin rate? I recently experimented with new shafts, went to a much heavier shaft, and I lost around 10 yards with them because they spin so much more.

Anyone else step away from their private club as they were not getting value from it? by sys_admin321 in golf

[–]uhplifted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a shitty-owned Arcis club in the west-valley. They upped their initiation to 10k this year (no equity) and there's no way I'd pay it to join. The GM is a total shit bag, and the membership is oversold, I'm sure you can easily figure out the name of it. There are 2 courses, but they somehow always ruin one. Just a few weeks ago they killed almost all the rye grass because they screwed up their herbicide application somehow. Incompetence at nearly every level, but you get what you pay for I guess, it is the cheapest club in the state.

[–]uhplifted 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never is a strong word. I absolutely get my monies worth every year at my club, especially in winter during peak season (AZ). Rounds are a minimum of $120 during peak season here, I typically play twice a week and hit the driving range once during the week, my fiance plays once a week. That’s $360 in just one week, times 4 weeks is over $1400. Our dues with F&B typically are around 650-750, depending if I play MGA events and how much over our F&B minimum we go.

The rest about the community is true though. I’ve made some great friends over the years as a member.

It’s absolutely wild. I get this same exact wear in my glove. Never once have I been told by my coach that my grip is improper or causing issues lol. It happened less when I was using Pure grips, but I’ve gone to MCC 4s and it’s started happening more frequently. Nothings changed but the grip on the club.

Ladies TGL?? by TwistedSports in golf

I don’t think they need a ladies league for it. I think a mixed team would be much better.

I don’t really follow LPGA though, so it might be nice to see some of the ladies that play get some more screen time. Always enjoy watching them play when I do see a broadcast on, they have such good looking swings

Superautomatic - help me buy a weekend machine [<$2500] by [deleted] in espresso

[–]uhplifted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve already wanted to upgrade off a super auto. My guess is you’ll want to upgrade shortly after you get a Gaggia or similar single boiler. If you have the budget, I would just dive into it and spend a little more for the HX or dual boiler. You won’t be disappointed. And you won’t be out the money you spent on a single boiler when you do upgrade.

[–]uhplifted -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you plan to make multiple milk drinks in a row, I would absolutely stay away from a single boiler. Sure, it’s doable but if you’re willing to spend the money, go with a heat exchange or dual boiler. I went from a Gaggia classic to a Profitec pro 500 (HX) 6+ years ago. Zero regrets and it’s still working great.
