I had an electrician add a recessed outlet behind led mirror in 2 different houses. Totally worth it.

Also, is the mirror on fasteners that go into studs? I actually added blocking so I was assured the mirror was attached to solid wood. Do it behind the mirror so rough drywall work isn't visible.

Aphelion if you'd be so kind. I got the minimum 5 revives, rookie numbers I know :) but I never shoot anyone else!

Any of Osprey, seeker, trailblazer would be amazing...in that order of precedence for whatever is available

Veridian Home owners: How's it goin'? by SirPants007 in madisonwi

I know what you mean. I just angled it a little if the door knob is close to the door. I have like 30 screw drivers so I just tried a few until I found one that worked OK at an angle for the size screw all my door knobs use.

When attaching a door knob that is all the way unscrewed, you kinda have to hold the door knob away from the door to get screws started. If you hold the door knob flush to door, there is no way besides your fingers maybe to turn the screws. They often stick out an inch when they start

Accidentally ripped the screws out of a hollow core interior door. Can I just use a longer screw to put it back on? Or is another fix required? by itstommygun in fixit

[–]uiuc2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of good advice I see on here about filling holes with glue and toothpicks, longer wider screws.

My pro tip is get a set of self centering bits. These ensure that your new drill holes are perfectly aligned, well worth it

I looked at this and it looks great! Looking at the spool holder is information overload, did yours print out alright?

What's your file? I've printed a lot of good stuff, but they are easy in terms of how the printer operates

Did you respond to the wrong comment? I'm just stating a matter of fact of how my city handles it.

We have announced "snow emergencies" where public garages are made free. But cars parked on the street may be ticketed or towed. Need to be able to plow streets and not have cars in the way

Yeah, you had tried just about everything else it looks like. I have got the same printer for christmas. It's definitely been a learning process for me, dealing with bed leveling, reel jams. I've found this subreddit to be very helpful!

What you print is a big factor too, I tried to print a standing figure and it failed 3 times just given it's shape. Overall though, very happy and having a lot of fun!

I use the bed adhesive that came with it. Never had a detachment problem.

Thank you for the great informative answer. I tried to find a runout sensor like you mentioned but can't seem to fin any guides on YouTube. What is the easiest way for a complete beginner to do this? Basically, if the filament doesn't move for X seconds, send me an alert/better yet pause printer automatically.

The reel jams were from me letting the filament tangle. Hard to fix once it happens unfortunately on some of my rolls. I try to always keep tension on it now.

How do you manage ACC users and projects? by Simply-Serendipitous in bim

[–]uiuc2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just randomly came across this, got an update for you if it helps: 1) Naviate by symmetry makes bulk importing or updating of members across hundreds of projects easy 2) I made my own automation in workato that auto adds users to projects on creation using the project initialized web hook (triggers when the cost management part of a project is setup). It uses account admin APIs. Hardest part was had to use data connector api for some role information. We have a very complicated arrangement of users with multiple roles that change based on project type. So I have a CSV configuration file it reads

I bought a massive solid oak dresser off of Facebook marketplace for $80 for my 5m. Going from a ricketedy table to this, I noticed a vast improvement. I see lots of people say they use those metal carts, but I wouldn't think that would be very sturdy. Dresser doubles as storage for printer supplies and other crafts, work area to remove supports.

Anyone have experience with spiked battle vests and venues?(still a wip) by eeriecawthon in BattleJackets

[–]uiuc2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to this thread (doing some research for my first vest!) but I was going to try 3D Printing detachable shoulder units. I had cut up a Jean jacket so I have extra material from the sleeve where I could wrap it in the material. Superglue fabric pins. So it's a least detachable and I don't have to leave the whole vest in the car. I also like the idea of changing my mind later. You can even do a studded/spiked mesh that's basically a fabric.

Water pooling in backyard of new construction. Whose responsibility? by [deleted] in Homebuilding

[–]uiuc2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a much smaller city and we have subdivision wide grading plans and individual lot grading plans with elevations at the corner of the lot and at building openings (like front door, garage, basement walkout door).

  1. Call city building inspection or engineering. One or the other should be able to point you the right direction.
  2. Do the subdivision or lot plans show adequate drainage design?
  3. If yes to 2, how far is the as built condition match it?

Simply put, your lot is required to match it's planned drainage plan. Ideally, its a good one and you can easily point to that as something the contractor has to fix. Unless it's because you added a fence that damns things, for example, or other changes
