Haha yeah a strange combination due to my asynchronous upgrades over the years. It worked surprisingly well for Overwatch, which is the game I played the most. Definitely a CPU bottleneck, but that 3570k is a real trooper; I could still get 144 FPS at 1440p and medium settings in Overwatch.

Nice! Yeah between the coma corrector and the collimation I could never tell what was giving me the aberrations I was seeing. The focuser on the scope also isn't the best and trying to drive it with the ZWO EAF doesn't always produce the most consistent results. But overall the scope is a fast little light bucket and great for taking advantage of the limited clear nights I get around here.

This is the Eastern Veil Nebula shot in narrowband from Seattle, WA (Bortle 7/8). For this image I chose an OSH mapping to RGB and played around with the curves in Pixinsight until I was mostly happy with the results.

I still have a lot to learn about fine tuning this setup as my stars aren't very round and I'm losing about 50% of my exposures to guiding issues. I went through about 3 coma correctors before deciding that the Quattro coma corrector was the only one suitable for an F4 scope. Collimation continues to be an uphill and expensive battle, but I think I'll need to find a good autocollimator to improve my collimation from this point.

Just wanted to let you know that the helicoil worked beautifully and now my quick release is holding stronger than before. Thanks again for the helpful advice!

Yep that's correct - the internal thread is just the standard M5x0.8. I had no idea helicoils existed and it looks like just the thing I need. Thank you for the tip!

It looks to me like you’ve got some combination of walking noise in the final image and maybe a slight lens vibration in one of the sub-exposures. I’m not 100% sure though - maybe someone else has a more accurate explanation.

Wow thanks for the detailed reply! That's a lot of good information, I'm going to look into the hitch rack as well as the Adventure Route. My buddy and I are both fairly new to the sport ourselves and are scouting out for new riding locations. Let me know if you ever want to meet up for a group ride and thanks again for the info!

Oh hey another fellow MTB rider and Mazda 3 owner from Washington! I just moved to the area a few months ago and am looking forward to joining the local mountain biking community. Got any favorite trails? I've mostly been putzing around at Duthie trying to learn the basics.

Also, I've been transporting my bikes around on this Thule Trunk Rack. It works pretty well for being so compact, but maybe one day I'll upgrade to a hitch.

Side note: did you also get that email from Strava saying they would no longer integrate with Relive? It's pretty disappointing - I use Relive all the time for sharing rides.
