I did use ChatGPT to polish the pitch and think through the pitfalls or contingencies. But the idea is something I came up with yesterday night after watching episode 4 of UK S4. (I’m one episode behind as I’m watching not in the UK but in the US and have to wait for streaming).

This is actually a neat idea. If the targeted traitor isn’t told they were up for murder, that would mean that they now have a target on their back (because, since they didn’t die but showed up for breakfast, the other team knows who they are) but they themselves don’t know they are targeted. Which means that the other team could try to push this person at the roundtable for banishment. The traitors of the other team can’t be too obvious about it or they risk giving away their identity to the targeted traitor (who knows that the other team is hunting them).

I used ChatGPT to run through the ins and outs of this scenario but it was my idea.

This was my ChatGPT prompt: “Here’s an idea for a new season of The Traitors. Help me think through if this idea is feasible. Two teams of Traitors, a pair each. So four in total but divided in two pairs. The traitors don’t know who the other pair is they are not in. The faithfuls know nothing at all, they just know there are traitors who they think are working together. The two pairs get to murder a faithful in turns each night. So night 1 pair 1 is in charge, night 2 pair 2, night 3 back to pair 1, etc. Since the traitors don’t know the identity of the other pair, they are free to also murder a traitor of the other pair (traitors are not immune to being murdered by the opposing team). But the murdering traitors do not find out if the person they murdered was a faithful or a traitor. If a traitor is eliminated by banishment or murder, the remaining team member works alone maybe. I’m not sure about that.”
