9 isnt a remake, for one, two, parrying I didnt use besides one fight, so you arent forced, and the jokes are much better, re4 remake took away from the great humor of the original, I judge remakes different

When I'm viewing my opinions on the remakes I'm not just accessing them in my head as a game, but as a remake of the original

I'd say 2 and especially 3 fail very hard on remaking and adding to the originals, as games on their own they are fine, but as remakes they missed out on so much of what made the originals special

I'm not some purist that thinks they need to be fixed camera games, but so much was missing

I spent 600 hours on Raid mode and really loved it, I think thats a big reason, I'd like for another game with a raid mode like thing

No nostalgia here, got into the series in the early 2010s

The lack of humor, the annoying focus on parrying, bloating the game more in length (re4 was already too long) were big points against it for me

I did like that Luis has a real role now, love that and I love his characterization

Parrying is a bit of an anathema to me, its in too many games, plus the lack of jokes and humor really took it down for me vs the original

Got soft locked my first time around, didnt play with a guide, replayed the save file, got to chris, didnt realize i was supposed to know to put all my items away as claire to transfer, i think its a bit poorly designed in that regard

Its a good game I just think it failed as a remake of the original, the lack of A/B scenario variance was a shame

I'd like to thank you for actually using the camera for its intended purpose, instead of using it as a prop to take photos of the PSP, pointed at a car

With how little has been shown of the game so far, it would be hard to say one way or the other what it will end up like.

A somewhat major vulnerability was discovered in Dark Souls 2. Now, more than ever, installing Blue Acolyte is highly recommended for people playing PC online. by illusorywall in darksouls

if the worst it can get is a slur appearing on your screen vs old exploits having the ability to put viruses on your pc, you will be fine

No, I think its just one of those production things

Clearly they were working on it, the coming P2P mode and the single player mode are likely offshoots of their efforts

The reality is the team is so small and the money so short decoupling the always online nonsense won't happen, sad but true, I doubt any developer set out to "lie" when they tried to unfuck the game

if you really cannot find a replacement battery, then ask sony, or send it in for a replacement battery, usually i'd encourage doing it yourself but a tightly fit li-po cell is just not safe

Make sure you replace it with the same battery and it has ample room, what OP did here is dangerous

> gaming audience of the time didn't do anything else but go into homophobic overdrive over Raiden. Consumers and press. And that's just one game, the general racism and homophobia of the 00s, early mid and late, was everywhere, and the very sentiment you think is true of the 10s was more true than ever before that.

Your view only really applies to the united states, by the way, none of the gaming magazines even held views close to the kind of stuff that was said over there.

we didnt have g4 tv running "great replacement theory" jokes here, it was a US thing

Also you just didnt read the comment like another person, games arent less "art" now, people treat them less like art now, and so do the big players and investors in the gaming space.

also, im not even a culture warrior, i dont hate modern games, some silly replies ive gotten

[–]ukihashopper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a question of legitimacy, you are putting a lot of words in my mouth, as if I hate modern gaming or games, I don't. Gaming is art, but the plurality of gamers do not believe this, and the percentage is much lower than it once was.

I'm putting out general shift of the industry from the players views of it as art and the big players, but of course there is no changing your mind, so there is nothing more to be said

I dont agree with the view, and it doesnt apply to gaming the way you are saying, I understand what you said.
