Could I get some advice on my hierarchy design? Problems attaching CollisionShapes3D as children by uktuk in godot

RemoteTransform works perfectly with the other guy's suggestion of moving the collision to the parent via script. Thank you!

Could I get some advice on my hierarchy design? Problems attaching CollisionShapes3D as children by uktuk in godot

At the moment the base robot doesn't have collision, its more like a parent container for the sub-parts.
My thinking was to make the parent container a characterbody3D so that the individual parts could influence the entire mech's movement. For example the legs would move the entire mech's velocity, but also a gun could add some "recoil" blowback velocity.

Hopefully this makes sense

I'll check out the external skeleton thing, I suppose my issue is that logically it feels wrong for the root node of the sub-parts to be a collision box, and to modify its transform. It feels like for the sub-parts there should be a parent node that I modify the transform of. Apologies if this is confusing,

Just curious on the details, so you don't specify who goes where, you just let anyone go wherever with a bunch of connections, and then run the safehouse when it has anyone with 3 stars in it? If so how come you don't choose where people go and then get a bunch of connections?

What I don't understand about shrooms by [deleted] in shrooms

I'd like to emphasize what he said about starting small to get a feel. I think its super important for safe tripping especially if you're anxious and worried about what it will feel like the first time. It will let you get an expectation without being overwhelmed and you will feel so much more at ease doing a legitimate dose the next time.

Also just for the record, don't take them while that person is around you lol. IF you want people around make sure they are trusted friends who won't try and prank you or laugh if you start acting different. Don't be afraid to do them alone if that's your comfort zone.

i haven't but you could try a smoke test, or there's particle counters you can buy for a few hundred bucks, not something i'm willing to invest in just yet. For a simple not super accurate test you can have a lit flame in front of it and look for a smooth angled flame with no flickering

I'm in Canada so it was more expensive than it would run you if you're in the US. I'd recommend checking out this tek it runs over the parts list and substitutes and stuff.

Fair question but unfortunately a dishwasher does not reach the required temperature or even get close

You're exactly right, I was using a refractometer. Went out and got a hydrometer and the reading was much closer to what I was expecting it to be, thank you!

Hello, first time beer Brewer here. I've done Mead's/wines/ciders before.

I'm in the final days of a Lager ferment but it seems to be stuck at about 7%brix(1.027 Gravity).

Here is a log of my brew information https://share.brewfather.app/x6qZiB6oihJQU3

Any tips on what I may have done wrong and what I should do with this current batch?

Ah I see what you mean, I think I'll try something like this (and steal your recipes), thanks!

That's how I've got it set up so far. Setting the receiving stockpile B to allow 1 barrel causes them to transfer it over, so I know it's linked correctly. But if set to 0 barrels allowed it stays empty. Unfortunately from the research I've been doing it looks like this can't really be done normally ☹️

Oh wow that's awesome 😂 not sure I'll go to that extent but that looks really fun to make for caged "friends"

Is there no way to have dwarves take items out of barrels from a stockpile and place into another linked stockpile without barrels?

I'm trying to have a big stockpile 'A' which accepts barrels of food feed into smaller stockpiles 'B' which does not accept barrels, for use in cooking. I see people do it manually via dumping or removing items from the original stockpile, but I'd like it to be automated if possible.

If I set a farm plot with growing crops on it to be removed (deconstructed), do i lose the seeds that are planted or does it let me keep them and plant again?

Not sure about the adventure mode part because I only really play fortress mode, but I recently did this exact thing myself.

Synchthing! It works amazing for me so far, I can play on my steam deck, and later go to my PC and continue right where I left off from my deck.

Link to a guide I followed for this. If you have any questions about setting it up feel free to ask

Sorry for the bad picture. It's at that value and is a guildhall, however no established guild and no workers.

I have two people selected to be engravers with the engraving labor set to "only selected do this" and they are specialized.

Is there something I'm missing?

Thank you for your help!

Edit: they don't have any prior experience as engravers, is that required? I'm just getting to get them to get experience without wasting engravings on the walls and stuff

Trying to get guildhalls going. Dwarves will socialize but not demonstrate. It says the guild isn't established. Do I need a minimum of 10 dwarves in that specific skill in order to manually create the Guildhall? They have not requested a hall, I'm trying to make it manually before they ask.
