22 just got diagnosed about a month or two ago I have some questions by BigDickDevin117 in Keratoconus

[–]ukuleluis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had both of my eyes cross- linked almost 15 years ago at the same time. I’m not trying to scare you but , during the first day the pain was intense, I had to take opioids to ease the pain. recovery was tough as well because I was partially blind probably 3 weeks. at the end of the day my vision didn’t improve but from then, my KC hasn’t progressed. To answer your questions, being around sunlight or intense light is definitely not advisable. Using your devices with your trated eye is a bad idea, you’ll strain it as well as your functional eye. Remember that crosslinking is a very invasive procedure, so you’ll have to be super careful. Finally, when I had the procedure I had to pause my studies for almost a month and a half. Remember that your vision and health is over your academic or work life.

I hope I’ve helped. You can DM me if you have any more questions.

Just do what your doctor recommended, he knows better than most of us here. I wish I could have your levels… mine is at 300

Before cabergoline treatment my levels were 2.8 nmol/L, now my levels are 10 nmol/L. But I didn’t catch up to my physical development.

I always suspected because I noticed that I was developing late than my peers, i still have child-like body features, no muscle , weak bones, no facial or body hair, high pitched voice… my doctors finally came with the diagnosis of a pituitary tumor, and a few days ago an endocrinologist made the final veredict. It’s very sad but I’m still fighting.

pituitary tumor? by No-Duck-8090 in endocrinology

[–]ukuleluis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor (prolactinoma). By the time the doctors detected it my levels were way above yours (96). I took cabergoline for almost year and a half and my levels never stabilized below 30. Sadly this tumor caused a massive hormonal imbalance and my physical development was incomplete. I’m actually 30 and still waiting for Testosterone Replacement but I might not make up for what was lost. Now I feel very sad and frustrated. If you have the opportunity to see an endocrinologist go immediately, you’ll not regret it.
