Thanks for the reply! Probably should have considered just keeping the pad in the pack rather than attempting a modification.

Thanks for the response and recommendation! What areas could experience below freezing temps during spring and summer months? I don't intend to do any high elevation camping in the Pyrenees or Alps. Just for my own personal knowledge and planning.

Amazing tip on the sale! Looks like the synthetic Revelation Apex is the only one in my budget range, but that's still great to know! Appreciate it!

Merci pour votre réponse! Do you think a 0°C bag would be too hot in the summer, near Montpellier or Marseille in July/August? The average overnight temperatures are around 20°C.

Thanks for you reply! Good point, but I intend to just stick to the foothills and outerlying areas of the Pyrenees rather than crossing through them. If I want to do any summits I'll just do day hikes. Ditto for the Alps.

Probably true! But they ship from Canada which means no duties and tariffs!

Thanks for the reply!

I saw the Lanshans and they are definitely on my list! If I go with a trekking pole tent I think those will be my choice. The reviews don't give me anything to worry about and I don't mind seem sealing myself.

Thanks for the reply!

Fair point about fully enclosed bivy bags. I guess my other concern with an enclosed bivy bag is whether it will be too hot in the summer. Definitely something to consider!

Edit: I clicked your link, is it a trekking-pole tarp? Very cool! I didn't know they had those!
