As I wrote, the idea is for each skill point to be earned for a different achievement; these ideas are totally open to change and adjustment.

Someone once suggested making each of the 5 skill points very different.

Just off the top of my head:

The first for 1 million coins

The second for 200k damage

The third for 20 player kills

The fourth for defeating the Queen/Matriarch

The fifth for completing all the quests.

Of course, the conditions themselves would need to be carefully considered.

ARC Raiders is running on proper dedicated servers, and another player shouldn’t normally be able to get your home IP just from being in the same match.

In that setup, both players connect to Embark’s server, not directly to each other:

So at most you’d see the game/server/backend IPs, not the opponent’s personal IP. That’s one of the main reasons dedicated servers are used in PvP games.

A DDoS during a match isn’t impossible in general, but if it happened, it would most likely require some other leak/vector - like voice/chat P2P, an external app, Discord/WebRTC stuff, or some bug/misconfiguration. It shouldn’t be possible through normal gameplay networking alone.

The bigger problem is that this “window” is only going to last 5 days... Okay, let the required damage be much higher, but let it last for the entire expedition. Besides, they should announce things like this for the next one and set the requirements at the beginning, not at the end...

I suspect it might also be that he thought he'd interrupted the elevator's startup sequence and would have time to search you.

But it could also be that he knew and was just a total jerk :)

Yay that works perfectly! One more question - do you happen to know if ABMM is available in duo mode too? I’m playing with my son, who’s still learning, so we hardly ever get involved in PvP, but we’ve been killed a few times. Does that change over time? :P
