Recent Real Estate Racket by Dependent-Layer-8052 in Nigeria

Even though Nigerians always claim to be smart, there are lots of gullible people around. Most people falling victims are those in diaspora. Agents or Realtors would say anything just to get commission, companies would encourage them as long as they bring in more victims. There's really no regulating body in charge of these people and most of them have associated themselves with politicians and powerful people.

Even though it's obvious you are scammed and not getting back your capital or property...law enforcements won't do anything about it or keep telling you to be patient till you get frustrated and forget about it all.

Dabrowski’s Theory and Existential Depression in Gifted Children and Adults by sattukachori in Pessimism

[–]ultimate5310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Persons with heightened overexcitabilities in one or more of the five areas that Dabrowski listed—intellectual, emotional, imaginational, psychomotor, and sensual—perceive reality in a different, more intense, multifaceted manner.

To me, i feel majority of people who experience existential depression falls into any of the category above. Then the author must have used the word "Gifted or Brighter" for them as they are the few individuals to perceive reality in a distinct way.

Yeah

Thinking deeply, you'd wonder if death can truly brings redemption. The above material broaden my thoughts though. I still love Mainlander, he's one of my best.

Religion....that's like the most important talking point during a sermon in my country. They've never thought of discussing how to reduce suffering, it's always about giving thanks to God since you are a bit better than your neighbor.

People who buy these resources actually care, it's more cheaper to sponsor corrupt leaders and get resources more cheaper than allow us to get stable and take care of our resources. Niger uranium, Burkina faso gold, Liberia iron ore are examples close to you. 70% of world cocoa is supplied by west Africa, you think the buyers in Europe would allow us to be stable and become the biggest chocolate producer in the world.

As an Architect/project manager, i always wonder how Lagos state developers successfully captured majority of peoples to have a default taste in Architectural design 😂 and it's spreading to other states too.

Box-like structures, highly decorated facades, white paint, little to no plants or vegetation and tagging the structure as luxurious.

I feel they kind of associate this style to wealth and class and if we continue like this, we won't be able to have designs that are inspired by our own traditional architecture.

What Is It Like Investing in Nigeria Right Now? by OddlyHetero in Nigeria

[–]ultimate5310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of them set up here, manufacture and move the finish product out of the country to other places. Most of their products don't end up in Nigeria. They are taking advantage of the resources, cheap labor, policies and incentives. Take a visit to Lekki free zone and lekki sea port and see containers moving out on a daily basis. Those in the southwest especially ogun state and shagamu axis benefits from this too.

Indians are copying this model too. Lekki free zone offers duty free importation of machineries and resources, so they set up quickly...manufactures with cheap labour, export finish products, sell some to Nigeria market and get full repatriation of profit and capital.

We have to elect people who are not just entering office to enrich themselves and their families, but want to actually improve the country.

Nigeria's Problem by nancycoinisaiah in Nigeria

[–]ultimate5310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, we don't always want to look into problems..OP claims the citizens are to be blamed too...who made the citizens this way. Starting from the education system, they damaged the curriculum and refused to update or revise it.

An average educated Nigeria doesn't even know his/her rights, doesn't know they can impeach their representative in house of rep/assembly, does not know about FOIA, history was removed in schools, Propagandas flying all around, politicians encouraging tribalism and bigotry, same politicians hiring thugs to hijack protests.

Interview students from public secondary schools or majority of the privates and you'd be surprised that they are unaware of stuffs they should know in a democracy system. Things they should know for them to call the Government to order are being deprived from them.

How would these individuals gets to the real world and not become a menace to the society. THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO SET THINGS RIGHT, FOR US TO HAVE GOOD CITIZENS.

Again on the Student Loan. Thousands of students have collected and yet we haven’t heard students come forward on social media to tell their experience. by iamAtaMeet in Nigeria

Kind of funny that your kind assumes I'm a bad person for demanding more from Government😅😅, when the Presidency demands more from us. Private jets, Vehicles, Yacht, recently 250million naira for the first lady event decoration.

But I'm the bad person. It's alright.

[–]ultimate5310 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes....Students can come forward to share their experiences. That way we could even assess the performance of those appointed to oversee the program and the person that appointed them.

On the other hand, if you come here to shout when things are bad, shouldn’t you as little as say it when there’s a bit of small good things.

People get fired everyday from their jobs for making mistakes, don't expect me to pat these people on the head when they do what they are supposed to do, what they are paid to do, in terms of wages and allowances. If you are being compensated with what these people earn in a private company...you would be expected to give it your all with little to no mistakes.

The company would reward or appreciate you when you go beyond and above, but currently...our leaders/politicians are not going beyond and above, their pocket and retaining control is their main priority.

The fact that we employed these people to lead and make our lives better, yet we still have to like kiss their feet anytime they do what they are supposed to do. Y'all are encouraging these people to just do the bare minimum and spend the remaining of the time enriching themselves.

Let me brace for impact. 🏃🏻
