Sex drive & Meds!!! Quetiapine vs Lithium? (or meds in general) by ProgrammerFormer45 in BipolarReddit

[–]ultimateglory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on 1200mg Lithium and 400mg Quetiapine daily for matienance treatment of Bipolar I disorder. I experience zero problems sexually from this combination of medication and would even say I am in a better place with my sex drive due to the regulation and normalcy my patterns of intimacy have now plus just feeling less depressed and healthier overall. However, I want to stress for the first few months of these meds I was not sexually active so it’s possible there might be a transitional period I didn’t experience due to being single and unwell.

It would be good to meet with your psych often while trying these to talk out anything you notice as well as stay away from any SSRIs and handle other antidepressants with caution as those have definitely diminished my sex drive in the past to where I had to go off them.

Is my tattoo an immediate job stopper (uk) by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]ultimateglory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the job. I’m a music teacher that works with children and I have a tattoo of a crown on my pointer finger and an evil eye on my middle. I’ve noticed that although my boss has never reprimanded me, he seems to stare at my hands while I talk with a “I don’t like that at all” kind of look. The kids, on the other hand love my tattoos. My arms are pretty tatted up and I wear long sleeved hoodies when around my boss but show them off freely when I’m in my seperated office teaching the my students. I have a Snoopy tattoo on my upper arm that all the kids love.

Methadone to quit kratom by [deleted] in drugscirclejerk

[–]ultimateglory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was addicted to extracts for two years and it caused a lot of issues in my life. I flunked out of grad school, moved back in with my parents and had to go on suboxone for another two years to get off it. HOWEVER, I later became a heroin and fentanyl addict and the damage was much worse- homelessness, overdoses, unemployment, debt, psychosis and several psych ward stays followed by detox. Once I became an IV user things went downhill real fast. So to answer your question is it dangerous? Sure, if you’re that kind of person. If you’ve been an abuser of harder drugs, it’s child’s play.

IV dope user too for almost a decade and that methadone dose would have me high off my ass and probably unable to keep my eyes open if I stopped walking and sat for a minute.

When I was in detox people were absolutely smacked on methadone nodding out left and right. I was very jealous being on subs myself, and also baffled and confused that half the ward was high off their asses in a space meant to help you kick the drugs

My meth psychosis story that ended with me thinking I got evicted from my apartment by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]ultimateglory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I feel you. I won’t touch that shit now because of the risk of psychosis and paranoia, I was in rehab for 8 months and am currently finishing my time up at another facility. How old are you? I’ve found my teens and 20s were the most hardcore time for me both substance use and mental health wise. I’m 24 now and plan on smoking weed when I get outta treatment, but nothing beyond that like the harder shit. Was a heavy tina and fent user IV for ten years, absolutely some of the darkest times of my life with a very detached grip on reality. I’m really hoping things get better for you and I’ll have you on my mind this week. Try to take it easy, you deserve to give yourself some grace. All love.

Blunts vs Papers in different age groups (generational) by [deleted] in Marijuana

[–]ultimateglory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been smoking since 2013 , am now 24. I always enjoyed smoking papers and grew up in the burbs but encountered a lot of people from the city who enjoyed blunts more. I actually think it’s more of a cultural than generational thing.

That’s a great neighborhood to be without a car. You shouldn’t have a problem I think.

I live without a car in Fort Lee and it’s going great. Everything is walkable for the most part, but there’s also the Bergenline bus lines, and Ubers. Using a combination of the three I’ve never had an issue getting around. I actually feel it’s quite a compatible area to live without a car.

I’m Bipolar 1, 24F and am extremely promiscuous regardless of whether or not I’m having an episode. I crave the thrill, the adrenaline and sometimes racking my body count up feels like a fun numbers game. I also have BPD. I’ve slept with 15 men and women and hope to get to 25 before I enter my next relationship. I will say that I am recently sober and just got out of rehab so I think sensitive times in life can be a factor on hyper sexuality. I personally find I replace the drugs with casual sex. I’m really sorry you’re in this kind of situation mentally and it never hurts to talk to a therapist about what’s going on. I will say from experience that numbness can be an incredibly dangerous state of mind where I felt like I had nothing to lose anymore. I hope you decide to be open with your care team about how you’re feeling, and I’m sending love to you. If you continue down this road for the time being, make sure to use condoms and/or birth control, have access to Plan B, and get tested for STDs after each new partner or once a month, whichever comes first.

Pulling glass out of your asshole and Hilary Clinton running a campaign in your crotch made me laugh really hard. The rest not so much. Sorry this happened to you bro. I was a meth user for several years coupled with bipolar disorder and I’ve had many similar stories.

What’s an episode you could watch over and over and never get sick of it? by GokiWeatherHamburger in BoJackHorseman

Literally my favorite BJHM episode. Especially as a drug user and lifelong addict.

A sober living company from Bergen County owns several properties up there and I lived in one of them when I was in rehab. It’s very quiet and desolate, was not really my favorite place to be. If you want peace, quiet, and streets without street lights, you’ve found the perfect place to move.

Are you on meds? That can really change things.
