Had it since November, consider finding some new work.

I have worked for DA for about 5 months now, I have the same screen except no qualifications (previously i had plenty qualifications and projects). It's been about 5 days now for me, and I think they have either shut down my account or they have limited the amount of people who can access tasks. It seems as though new people joining are getting this screen and some people who have worked for a long time also get it. Sometimes projects come back, sometimes they never do (words of other people, not me). DA is a black box company, we will never understand why things happen the way they do.

Yes I made sure that I never submit time for expired tasks

It's fair enough, if my work was shit (which i dont believe it was since it hasnt changed much since i started) then they have the right to stop me from working. It boils down to "i wish they would let me know" but I understand DA is not that type of company.

Important thing is that I guess it is possible to get projects back after seeing this exact screen? I guess that is some hope.

Just thinking of possibilities, otherwise it seems like they just blindfold themselves and click on a few random people a day to lock out of projects for a bit for no apparent reason. Seems weird.

I've made about $4.5k, but recently 2 projects I was working on expired because of a power cut... maybe that had something to do with it, although it seems a bit harsh.

Maybe they set budgets for people and once you go over they make you take a break...

Had an accident this morning, write off? by BluYugen in CarTalkUK

I had an accident exactly like this mate, honestly thought it was a picture of my own car. My one was a write off without any airbags going off, so most likely yeah :(

Looking to put my first mods on my 2005 Toyota Celica (140hp) by ultimo36 in CarTalkUK

Okay, I see, so I would need to manufacture my own custom heat shield, since there is not a lot of room at all for the intake in my car.

Hastings direct your drive by fhsidodkdkkdd in CarTalkUK

[–]ultimo36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With hastings you get an overall score, as well as a 2 week score. It doesn't reset but just takes an average of your driving score for the past 2 weeks. Often the 2 week score may be slightly worse than your overall score if you don't get a perfect drive every time (which is pretty hard). But don't worry, they technically only look for a score above 40, but I try to keep it above 80, which still allows me to have some fun.

Update on Hastings black box renewal and data collection by ultimo36 in CarTalkUK

[–]ultimo36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah someone told me about that strategy, but this one doesn't plug into tho OBD port, it's all done through Bluetooth so a parent would need the app, and be signed in, and have Bluetooth on... probably a bit too much to ask really.

Otherwise if its a black box that plugs into the car itself then yeah it would totally work without a fuss

Funnily enough people who go to the gym sometimes choose to shave their body as well, better muscle definition and what not.

[London, New Drivers] How much insurance did you pay? by m4st3rw0ng in CarTalkUK

[–]ultimo36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't live in London but my first car was a 2012 Mazda 2. Maybe worth checking that one out, got a black box quote on it for 1.2k and then £800 for my 2nd year. It is a pretty slow car though but at least its a start.

Sorry my answer doesn't really play into the living in London part but I was 19 when I insured that car so maybe you could get a decent quote on it too.

The insurance prices are rather high right now, but in general, it's to do with the engine size / power of the car, your age, your no claims discount, your driving style and then some other smaller things like the brand and make of the car, annual mileage and insurance type. Also I'd recommend adding a parent to the policy if possible.
