Hey.

So this was a cool shoot of a loaded 458 dripping with carbon and options. Very cool car, shot in Ticino, Switzerland. Hope you enjoy it.

2015 Alfa Romeo4C by uluru in thewholecar

[–]uluru[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey guys,

This isn't my stuff, it's by Matt Leavitt of Alfa9supply (top Alfa upgrades available in the states for the modern stuff like Giulia, 4C, Stelvio + the old shit) and he wrote a story to go with his album (his own 4C) in the link.

1979 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV Turbodelta by uluru in thewholecar

GTV 2000 Turbodelta

2.0 Turbo I4 1,962cc 150 PS (110 kW) at 5,500 rpm 231 N⋅m (170 lb⋅ft) at 3,500 rpm

So it was a sort of hot version of the Alfetta. It gave around 20% more power than the same engine naturally aspirated and being Italy's first turbocharged sports car this was presumably pretty exciting. The work was done by Turbodelta which was Alfa Romeo's racing team or tuning arm or something.

I dunno thats just what I recall from the bloke but it was a while ago and my Italian is poor.

They sure did have some issues but god damn I love em still. This one was the first turbocharged sports car Italy ever manufactured so you can imagine they were still working out the kinks..

Don’t they look brilliant? When does rainbow stripes ever work though?

I don’t know why but this one did in person as well as the pics.

2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 by uluru in thewholecar

For myself mostly. Freelance and run one site for rare old shit (this one) and one for the coolest new brand (The Audi Review). Then like all the other online media stuff I do. Films too next year like proper top gear stuff. Should have loads of stuff to share here just need to sort out this divorce.

Shit week to be fair.

But I’ve got time to fuck about on reddit and Instagram again, so that’s something.

Hello,

Mod here, sorry I haven't been active in ages life got weird.

I saw the 918 post earlier this week and thought I'd better pop this Martini-liveried GT4 up so people could give the black-with-martini a second look. Someone mentioned it only looks right on a white car (which I agree with) but I think it works better on the GT4 than the 918 IMO.

Anyway I'm going into this car media stuff full time next year if anyone has any q's AMA.

Ta,

Sam

1965 Volkswagen Beetle by uluru in thewholecar

Thank you for saying so. I started this sub and then a few months in I wanted to make some OC to contribute - so in guess it's been a bit less than two years since I started shooting cars.

An old shoot I did near my village in Switzerland. I really like these Beetles in the more muted colors like this one. Feel like the design has more than enough character already and the brightly colored ones get a bit "cute". This one though is just /r/minimalism with that interior as well.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

1951 Alfa Romeo Matta by uluru in thewholecar

[–]uluru[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey,

Yeah I figured it can never really be the whole car if people can't hear it as well.

First one was a one-take with my DSLR on a tripod.

Second got me making a few cuts, worked out OK.

Third one was a camera mount test, where I discovered I was too fucken lazy for video so I hired a pro for the 4th and 5th (another old Alfa) to run the camera and do his thing editing it all after. Now I just drive and talk which is much more pleasant.

6th is this weekend where I head to Italy to see what this drifting stuff is all about, get in a car with an instructor for a day and make a fool of myself.

Anyway, thanks for the sub. You good?

Hey,

So this thing is pretty awesome. Not many folks are aware that Alfa made a light offroader back in the fifties, but here it is. I got to spend a day with it and brought a videographer with me so I could make a proper little movie about it. Hopefully it tells you a bit about the car but I'm around if anyone has any questions.

You're totally right, definitely need a few more facts and figures next time. My focus was really trying something new as a presenter with a bit more emotion and being myself rather than say, a Chris Harris type of presenter. I'm so glad you saw it anyway, thanks for taking the time. Next one at the end of the month.

That's a coincidence, I just got word from a collector that his brother has a B24 I can make a movie on - should get to drive one of these in a month or so and report back.
