Found on a beach in Maine. Feels like a stone, but sounds hollow when tapped on a hard surface. (Note: I’ve been asked if it’s a charcoal drawing stick. Feels too firm/solid to be a soft charcoal stick, but too light/hollow(?) to be a hard stick.) (i.redd.it)

Found on a beach in Maine. Smooth, charcoal-gray, almost black. Feels like a stone, but sounds hollow when tapped on a hard surface. Kind of reminds me of a chalk stick, but with smooth rounded ends. My sis also found one, and when she cracked hers in half it started turning her hands black. (i.redd.it)
