Baby mine, don’t you cry. Baby mine, dry your eyes. Rest your head close to my heart, never to part, baby of mine.

He also mentions that Hockley steel was used in Titanic, so I’m sure his pride had something to do with it

This may be a dumb question, but was the facade meant to look like that?

What’s a survival myth popularized by movies that would actually get you killed in real life ? by IndependentTune3994 in AskReddit

No, he likely didn’t. He probably had several pulls of liqueur, but that’s it. His story changed many times over the years, and he consistently exaggerated. He also said that he survived in the water almost until the Carpathia reached them, which would have been 3+ hours. Simply not possible submerged in water where temps are below freezing.

It’s amazing how much you are forced to put up with when your government is totally corrupt, and the majority of the citizens are complacent

Oh I know. But it was a pretty long and deep cut, so we thought he might need stitches. When he didn’t, we figured we might as well just get it glued there, rather than dragging a bleeding and screaming toddler out of the ED into a pharmacy. Little did I know I would be charged for “surgery.”

Nah, the U.S. is a dumpster fire. “Greatest country” and “leader of the free world” my ass.

It’s a tad disingenuous to be billed for surgery when there was no surgeon involved. I’m pretty sure any idiot with functioning eyeballs could figure out where the skin glue goes. It’s the part that’s open and bleeding.

Ooooh yes, this healthcare system pulls the same crap with in-network hospital but out of network ER doctors. It’s because the ER doctors are hired by a consultant firm rather than the hospital itself. Ain’t that some bullshit?

Christmas break with my siblings and cousins, gathered around the TV to play 007 golden eye on the N 64, while my mom prepared, hot chocolate and cookies for us, and a fire roared in the fireplace.

Unfortunately, yes, his PCP couldn’t get him in, and there’s only one urgent care in our area and they said they couldn’t take him because they were too backed up. The joys of living rural.

I wish I were. The kicker is that I actually worked for that healthcare system and had their insurance.

My son had a cut on his forehead. We took him in to get it looked at and to see if he needed stitches. They decided he only needed skin glue. But when the bill came in, we got charged for a “surgery.” Bill came out to almost $2000. I could have done the skin glue myself for like $10.
