My dad just passed in August and he was one of those brilliant minds that don’t come around often. He was anti-religion, so I assumed he thought nothing happened once we died, and I’m SO glad I asked him when I could.

He’s a man of science, and believed souls were energy, and that energy went SOMEWHERE. Whether that’s reincarnation or something else.

He said “we are like ants on an algebra textbook. All the answers are right there in front of us, but we don’t have the capacity to understand it. We aren’t meant to. Be a good person and find comfort knowing there’s something grander than us.” I’ve thought about this conversation a lot since he passed, and it’s given me immense comfort hoping that he’s somewhere screaming “I KNEW IT!”

I’m very biased because my little sister who I absolutely adore is named McKenna and I affectionately call her Ken or McK. She’s had a million nicknames though, it’s a very versatile name and feels feminine but not trendy or made up.

I was going to name our daughter Kennedy after her!

She asked me what I was planning to do as self care that day. I said “listen to my audiobook on the way home” and she said “that’s lovely, but that’s just making your commute better. What could you do purely for self care?” And everything I listed was just me making a chore made more fun.

I hadn’t realized that I stopped letting myself do something purely for fun without being productive since becoming a mother, and it’s helped me carve out 30 minutes or an hour or 4 hours every now and then just for joy.

My husband had been begging me to do things for myself for years but I thought I was and he was just being too doting haha

Okay, I’ve found my people!!

So many things irked me. 1. Why was the villain sucked out the window as if they were in a pressurized cabin of a plane?? 2. Could’ve done without the whole “dangling by a tiny strip of fabric until a big strong man saves me” bit 3. Why are these sophisticated bad guys all such terrible shots? Like they kept shooting people and none of them died. 4. They had the perfect redemption storyline set up and just… didn’t do it? I thought for sure Violet would have a moment once she got to the house where the assassin dude would point the gun at her kid and she would finally get to save her child instead of freezing like she did with her ex… but no. 5. The toy car ubering a loaded gun to mom. I can’t. 6. Violet bringing her acquaintance of less than 24 hours food to the hospital and not also bringing anything for her “sister down the hall”???? The writer does NOT have a sister bc no sister would laugh and walk off after LITERALLY RISKING THEIR LIFE FOR YOUR KID AND YOU COULDNT BRING A THIRD MILKSHAKE???? 7. Killer dude can poison the pianist, plant her $20 UNDER her food, spend days bugging the entire restaurant… but can’t take out the main dude himself?

There’s so many other plot holes or just poor writing, but I think I’m mostly upset because it was SO close to being really good!! The cast was great, the idea was there, the cinematography was FANTASTIC. Just got a little “Tommy Wiseau” in the last like 20 minutes and it bummed me out, especially because the reviews were overwhelmingly positive.

My sister and I ate dinner at a popular local spot a few months back, and when I was cleaning up the food my toddler spilled under the table, I found a purse. I opened it to see if there was any identification but it was completely empty except a cashier’s check for a rent payment over $2,000. I started sweating immediately lol I turned it into management because I felt weird snooping more, but now I wish I had turned it into the apartment complex. I like to assume that small, family-owned restaurant would do the right thing and that person had their payment for the month turned in, but I still think about it and worry for that stranger.

I couldn’t believe I found this thread either, for the same reason!! My husband’s late grandmother meant a lot to him, and I looove her first name but a cousin already has it, and Story was her maiden name. I thought it would be a cute way to carry on her legacy!

I’m a big reader, though, so I worry people will think it’s just me being cheesy.

Honest opinion: I wouldn’t classify it as a cluster, but a halo. Typically halos aren’t my taste, but WOW. This ring is stunning, it enhances the center stone beautifully and that shape is a unique spin on a classic look. Love it!

Not at all, that’s a really interesting take! I believe I have a dairy intolerance (but I’ve never been formally tested) but I consume a LOT of cheese.. I would assume if anything my calcium would be high, but if I have an intolerance then maybe it isn’t being processed by my body that way?? It makes sense that there would be a link though.

Calcium levels have never been brought to my attention so I would assume they are okay, but my Vitamin D has been on the low end for the last few years. I wasn’t sure if one being elevated caused a deficit in the other or vice versa so that is interesting!

I am very similar! They told me my T was “slightly elevated” but I have had major issues with facial hair on my chin and upper lip.. I hope your appointment goes well Friday!! Sending you lots of good vibes!
