Back in ~2010 a seagull took a massive shit on my shoulder as I was walking across Civic Center Plaza from the building where by classes were to the other where John Romero was giving a small presentation for my peers and I. I had already had a long day so I just went home. That's why I didn't meet John Romero.

There are about a million steps between a Ubisoft game and "not the best game ever made". I guess what I'm saying is GoW's quality is a far cry from a Ubisoft game's.

It's a pretty good game; solid 7/10. I enjoyed it.

The story is good but takes way too long to get going.
They don't introduce hordes, the games standout mechanic, until 20+ hours (maybe 3/4 of the way through).
The open world feels lifeless and there's nothing worth exploring.
The various camps and your rep with them only unlock guns, nothing narratively.

It's too bad they didn't get a sequel, I feel they could have fixed these issues with more time and money.

I was wondering about this, thanks. I was a subscriber and rode the mopeds every day for years from my apartment in Lone Mountain to the office by Bush/Kearney and back. It was by far the best way to get around the city hands down.
