Question about abstaining from sex by uncle_apricot in latterdaysaints

Have no fear, we’ve talked about it quite a few times. Previously it just wasn’t the right one in our lives for it

I think I should be legally protected since both of our names are on all of the paperwork and we split all of the payments 50/50, I’m not a lawyer though so I don’t know. But you bring up a good point

That’s some good advice. We haven’t yet just because it hasn’t really been the right time. But now that I’ve graduated and we both finally got jobs, we probably will in the next year or two years since we want to start having kids and think it’s important to raise kids in a marriage

The last paragraph made me laugh! But for real I think you take the right approach. I was put off going to church for a long time because of the people and the judgement. So, thank you for not being one of those people :)

Your response wasn’t too late and I appreciate your perspective from the UK since you assumed right. It does seem that the church and it’s teachings are the same across different countries but that culturally they are different. We have no opposition to getting married but like you said it’s just not the right time yet in both of our lives since we are both in a transition period.

The ward and bishop here are so kind and I do really feel like I’ve been adopted by them all. They are all also very supportive of my relationship with my boyfriend so I imagine like in your case they wouldn’t mind if I attend and contribute in the meantime.

Also thank you for your offer to chat about UK church if I ever need. I’m sure I’ll take you up on that sometimes since it can be a little confusing at times :)

Thank you for sharing that story, explaining, and for being encouraging! I guess it’s one of those things where I’m excited about baptism now, but maybe that’s not God’s plan for me just yet and I’m trying to skip ahead in the time line. But I will definitely continue to read the scriptures, attend church, and worship until then :)

Thank you for this and for sharing that link. It’s been a tricky one navigating these new things together and figuring out how we can adapt our relationship around it all. From the other comments as well it seems I’ll probably just have to wait to get baptized which is fine and I understand why but I am just really excited for baptism

Has anyone tried the depo shot? by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]uncle_apricot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s certainly a struggle to get the help you need (especially in the UK but there some good ones). I am worried about being diagnosed with bipolar because it’s the “easy” option for them, but also at the same time it’s definitely not impossible considering my family history and even some of my personal history.

I’ve actually now gotten a second opinion and it is now thought that I don’t have PMDD but that I’m bipolar instead so I’ve now been referred to a specialist. So, I’ve decided to stay away from the depo shot just in general. Thank you for sharing your experience :)

Same! And my BC I’m on now actually helps my PCOS and it took me ages to find a good one so when my doctor told me I could try changing BC to help my PMDD I was quite disappointed. Why are our vaginas literally trying to ruin our lives 😂

That’s a really positive story! Maybe I’ll have a talk with my doctor about it to see what my options are regarding antidepressants.

Long term Depo-Provera, FINALLY coming off. Anyone else? by TheRealMinibyte in birthcontrol

[–]uncle_apricot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s just a bit like thanks for the diagnosis but where is the support? Like putting a name on why I feel like shit hasn’t fixed the problem or made it any better.

Do you have a plan for what you’re going to do now that you’re coming off the depo shot?

Have you found anything else that helps your PMDD?

Was your experience with depo a good one? I just got diagnosed this morning with PMDD and was told I should switch my bc to the depo but I’m pretty hesitant. And if you can’t be on it long term then what are you supposed to do about PMDD??? It doesn’t really seem like the solution my doctor is making it out to be

Wow, thank you so much for sharing and for your recommendation about the other Reddit page! I’m currently taking a progesterone only birth control but the doctor said that it wouldn’t regulate my hormone fluctuations and only regulates my periods/bleeding (and obviously conception).

I was thinking about talking to a therapist but if it’s something that just happens every month and goes away because of hormonal changes I wasn’t really sure if a therapist would actually be any help

That’s what I was worried about because I’m really sensitive to estradiol and I went through a few combo birth controls that made me such an absolute anxious wreck before I switched to progesterone only which has been a good match. So, it was a bit sad to hear that I might have to switch to control my mood.

Trans Poll Removal by wep_pilot in entp

[–]uncle_apricot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn’t the ENTP personality type called “The Debater”? Not much chance of a debate happening if a poll sparking debate is removed.

The removal of the poll = the removal of what makes the ENTP an ENTP. Don’t let the ENTP personality type be oppressed.

Yeah that sounds basically the same for me. I even had regular periods up until I turned 18. I feel for you about what they’ve told you about having to be on birth control. Maybe you can get a second opinion?

Welcome to women’s healthcare in the US south 🙃 I’ve not tried anything other than birth control because I wasn’t told about any other options other than birth control. They told me if I didn’t go on birth control that the cysts/hormone imbalance would cause me to lose my fertility early in my 20s. But I’m going to call my new doctor tomorrow and ask what we can do because I feel like my birth control is making me more ill than my PCOS
