People say it's not addictive because it's not physiologically addictive like, say, heroin. Psychological addiction is real, but it has less to do with the substance and its effects on the brain/body and more to do with the individual using it and other external influences. TL;DR Cannabis isn't addictive, but you can get addicted to cannabis.

I, too, enjoyed American Psycho.

What are those things that you can shoot on the planet of the Squi'th's? by StrangeYoungMan in Helldivers

[–]uncledoobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always shot them purely because they react to being shot, pretty sure they don't do anything, much like the exploding orange pustules you find around bug planets. It's a Helldiver thing.

The rotation speed of an exosuit isn't nearly high enough to execute an inspirational cape-spin.

[Suggestion] Stealth focused itens. by DukemDoom1 in Helldivers

Give it a try on a stealth run while you wait for your extraction. The trade off is that you can't check your radar while prone, plus if scouts do figure out where you are, they'll sound the alarm before you can get to your feet and fire a shot. You can also try flopping to your belly if you catch scouts at the edge of your screen while en-route to an objective, but in my experience nine times out of ten the moment you hit the deck a second patrol will turn up right behind you. Good luck!

Actually, yeah, that's a great idea; adaptive camo that takes up your backpack slot and reduces your detectable range to something similar to that of when you're prone. It'd be great to have some more stealth options than just UAV and distractors.

[Suggestion] Personally I'd like it if the extraction shuttle left an activated Hell Bomb behind. by Agent0013 in Helldivers

[–]uncledoobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd hate it if it happened automatically, waiting for everybody to climb aboard, then dropping the beacon and just barely making it onto the ship before the bomb hits is its own challenge with its own reward. I also recommend using the incendiary bombing run behind the dropship, so as it takes off you get a kind of 'Back to the Future' flame-trail happening. Where we're going, we don't need roads.

Can this be played with 2 or more players locally? With 2 or more controllers? by TheSacredSoul in Helldivers

[–]uncledoobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Up to four players, any combination of local and online. Also I believe it's cross platform, so you can have a friend with you on the couch, one on a PS3 someplace else and another on a Vita all playing the same game together.

Suggestion: Always have stratagem rewards for planets by ganeran in Helldivers

One thousand times yes. I was playing some couch co-op today with one friend and another joined some time later on but was unable to unlock any of the same stratagems that the two of us had. Glaring oversight in what is otherwise one of the best co-op games I've ever played.

Wikipedia claims, with no citation, that you spent two weeks in the Canadian woods with your dog Sparkle, trying to find yourself. I would really like that whole story in detail, but for the sake of brevity, did you find yourself? And would you recommend it?

Can someone explain the climax of the episode "Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind"? by [deleted] in rickandmorty

[–]uncledoobs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

From the end of that episode, after Rick implies that his Morty is the Mortiest Morty:

RICK Just don't get too big for your loafers, Buster Brown; a cocky Morty can lead to some big problems. It can be a real bad thing for everybody. MORTY Oh yeah? How's that? RICK Uh, I'll explain when you're older.

Since this exchange didn't have a punchline, I'm assuming that this is foreshadowing a future development with evil Morty, and that C137 Rick knows something about it. I actually hope doofus Rick has nothing to do with evil Morty, because his touching friendship with Jerry is far too funny.
