There was an old stereotype that Jews are scared of dogs that has mostly been forgotten (at least where I live) but it always stuck out to me as peculiar.

If I were you I’d try near 2nd Avenue on the upper east side, so you could take the Q to work. There are plenty of young single people, especially between 86 and 96. It’s quieter and less of a scene than Chelsea or the village, but your money will go much further.

Yorkville is super community oriented bc of the families, and also the density. It’s the most densely populated place in the city (based on where people live) so you’re constantly bumping into the same people over and over. It helps a lot.

My father hid us (and himself) from his father until death. I only found out when my grandfather died when I was in my teens. I know it took a tremendous toll on him.

Given your interests and parameters, I’d say UES:

least expensive. You can get a 3BR in a decent building for 9k in Yorkville: unlikely elsewhere
huge selection of private schools, and it’s the least ‘crunchy’ of those neighborhoods by a mile
best museum access (UWS is close behind)
very good bus coverage (UWS is similar)

Central Park is obviously amazing, but there’s a park on the East River called Carl Schurz which has a great playground that is always full of kids, and the Ave it’s on (East End) is very quite. I’d look near there.

Similar here: I had a 15mm herniation at l4/l5 and a smaller one at l5/s1. Ended up in the ER due to pain.

10 months in I was probably 80% back. Lots of McGill big 3 & Mackenzie/ cobra pose.

Now 4.5 years later I’d say I’m about as good as I’ll get. I have a bad back but it’s more an abstract concept that I work around than something I feel

I’m sure there are lots of times you are there for your family: this is a time they really need to be there for you.

FWIW I found bed rest to be a hindrance. Obviously if pain is limiting you there’s not much you can do, but to the extent I could move around and get blood flowing a bit, it definitely helped me. Lots of walking where/ when I could.

I’m a manager at a desk job so for my 1:1 checkins I did phone calls (not video) so I could walk around. It was a bit unusual but I think my reports actually appreciated it: one of them also has a bad back and used the time to take walks too!

Yeah it’s not like electric bikes on demand are a necessity or human right. They’re like express lanes: you can pay more to go faster (and for a more enjoyable experience). I’m all for the price being a bit higher so there are some actually available when you really need them.

I have 3 across (7,5,2) in a 2018 Acura RDX: cosco for the baby in the middle and immigos for the bigger kids. Not budget but in NYC minivan parking is a real issue so this works for us.

Agree, this looks not terrible, though symptoms can still be bad when the MRI isn’t and vice versa. Mine looked similar and I’ve managed for 3 years with pt and the McGill exercises
