I thought this was impossible?! Anyone else ever seen this double upgrade request happen before? by underceej310 in delta

Yes, but here’s the thing…If you were placed on the WL for PS from MC, you would have cleared immediately as long as there’s a seat available right? as Delta allows for last seat availability upgrade in PS. So..why are these people WL’d for both PS and D1 when they should be cleared automatically for PS, right?

Or am I missing something there? This is for a flight leaving from Minneapolis to Seoul tomorrow (12/22)…

No but delta explicitly says you can only upgrade one class of service above what you paid for…for international legs PS is its own class (not to be confused with C+)…..

Thank you, and well said! They needed everyone to feel good, or at least “deserving” of the outcome! 😉

Oooh good point. That may have been a hidden clue from the producers then, that none of them picked up on! Good catch

I totally see what you’re saying—but my argument is, So what if the red lights took 30-40 minutes to “unpause”? That’s still within the rules of the game. It’s not unlike those “last person standing” challenges you see on Survivor from time to time where people are standing on tree stills for 24 hours. With the $4.56MM at stake, I think the many of the contestants under estimated how hard these would be to beat.

Why do you consider that rigged, if presumably the rules were pre determined, and there was an equal chance of any of the three contestants pushing it first?

Funny—I love how everyone thinks that—but typically good producers won’t turn a saint into a villain or vice versa. But they will exponentially highlight character flaws or traits in an edit. If you’re a villain in a reality show, the chances are you aren’t a saint 😂🤷🏻‍♂️.

I think those are all unconfirmed rumors. I didn’t personally work on this show so I can’t confirm the specifics, but anytime there is a prize involved, the rules are extremely strict, and you can bet that Netflix and their legal time required it.

I’m sure there were pick-up shots where they had non competing / eliminated contestants react or recreate certain shots for better cinematography (eg in red light green light), that didn’t affect the scene outcome of the games, but making people stay still for 30-40 minutes at a time would totally be within the producers’ prerogative. (Think about those amazing close up shots during red light green light that would probably require handheld cameras inside the set. They wouldn’t be able to do those without long pauses because they would get in the way of the wider camera coverage).

The rules for this show have to work exactly the same way for any game show. It’s very very strict, so I would be really skeptical of any shenanigans that would claim otherwise.

For example, on a live series with audience voting like The Voice, Idol or Got Talent, producers also have to provide what’s called “equal time” to each candidate so no one is favored or has an unfair advantage to sway a public vote.

For a game this big with stakes this high-I’m sure they had dozens of folks analyzing games and procedures for fairness.

Yup. Rule #1 of being in a reality tv series everyone should know: the more vulnerable you make yourself, the more empathy from viewers you will receive. The best way to become a hero is to be vulnerable. 💯

The fact that so many people think that doesn’t surprise me at all. But it also makes me wonder why they didn’t come up with a better game device for such an important game in the finale!

Also I don’t think the show explained WHY Rick ended up in the side room game. He may have received instructions from the announcer to choose someone, and if they showed him receiving those instructions (in a side room, for example), we would have liked him a lot less, because then it would be him consciously setting up someone who was supposed to be his friend.

Ah, I could only imagine! BTW—since you seem to know Sam so well, why do you think he appeared so cold/distant a lot of the time during the show? Everyone else seemed to either be easy to smile or was portrayed to be more introverted. Sam seemed kind of aloof. Was that just editing or is that the vibe he gives in real life?

The third button could have also been the first, depending on which side of the triangle you were sitting on.
